So I recently bought myself a taurus pt92 9mm semi auto and am looking for a holster. anyone have any opinions on which ones to get? and no sorry im not dead as im sure most of you had hoped

Get a pretty one!

My first thought would be get something leather just because it would look good with that gun.

My second thought would be holster choice depends on what your using the holster for.
Its a pretty big sidearm so I wouldn't think you would want to carry it inside your waist band, but hey, Ive done it with a G17. It was awkward..

Do you prefer leather, or kydex(hard plastic basically), or more of a cloth material(dont get this kind)?
Do you require retention(a mechanism to hold the gun in the holster) ?
theres probably some others, but look into those two to start.


Brand preference, I really like my Safariland 6378. It has a Level 2 (I think) ALS retention system, which means to draw the gun you have to work a thumb release.
I got the ALS because I felt better having the extra retention when I hunt or am in positions that might cause a pistol to fall out of other holsters.

ya im mostly just going to use it while camping but i was looking into over the shoulder slings. leather preferably but god damn cabelas was so expensive andbut alright thanks falcon ill look into it. and tazzaler i got accepted within minutes when the place called for the background check. he said its the fastest hes seen

Don't get a shoulder holster, you'll regret it. This isn't the movies. They are not comfortable.

Just get a Blackhawk Sherpa holster or something. They are cheap and good.

just dont get over zealous about that finger release. last thing you need is to shoot your foot off
