What did you get?
So X-mas is over and now I want to know what Santa brought you?
- crap load of socks - 12 assorted coloured t-shirts - 1 really cool Star Wars t-shirt with Darth Vader and 2 Storm Troopers - assorted camping gear, air mattress, metal grill for over the fire, 2 cans of Deep Woods Off, and a long fork to cook over a fire - practice putting green system, a folding bulls eye catch net for chipping and metal organizer that has three shelves and holds two sets of clubs - Roots Canada 27 inch luggage duffle bag with handle and wheels - Garmin S2 GPS watch for golf (it tells you the time and how far you are from the green while playing golf)
The best gift I received was watching my Mom break down in tears of joy when my sister and I told her we booked and paid for her to go to Europe this spring with my sister. She still can't stop crying two days after.
Now I just want to camp and play golf, I hate WINTER!

Re: What did you get?
I actually didn't get much this year and was okay with that. I prefer to give rather than get, i guess.

Re: What did you get?
A mixer and lots of MEC (Mountain Equipment Coop) gift cards as pretty much no one in my family knows shit about outdooring, and I buy a lot of stuff every year so win/win for everyone.
Also saved money for the whole year and just recently bought myself a north face 4 season tent, -20F sleeping bag, new 80L +15 Gregory backpack, a new cooking stove and a Canada Goose jacket for winter hiking & camping. Big changes about to happen pretty soon as I'm dropping university, applying for paramedic studies to eventually apply as Search & Rescue Technician in the Canadian Air Force in about 3-4 years. Bought a lot of gear to get myself ready for some survival training this winter!

Re: What did you get?
This year my girlfriend and I decided to give each other only one small gift (under 25$) and instead go on a weekend getaway together. We're going to be staying in a ''hobbit home'' that's about an hour away from Montreal. We actually had to book it almost 8 months in advance because it's always reserved. Should be fun, it's got a wood burning stove to cook on and heat the place and the grounds around the house are packed with over 100km of hiking trails.
Other than that I got some nice, practical gifts:
- Assorted gift cards - Boxers (if you haven't tried them, take a look at My Package underwear. They have a ''pouch'' for your jewels that prevent them from sticking to your leg. I discovered these a few years ago and now it's all I wear.) - A slow cooker - Some books (one on mycology, one on different knots and their uses, two books by Carl Sagan and a subscription to a magazine) - A bunch of little things in my stocking that I always like getting (shaving cream, shower soap, razors, some hand cream for our stupid-cold winters) etc... - Some cash
Hope everyone is enjoying themselves and spending time with family and friends. Of course, I hope you're also getting shitfaced as much as possible.

Re: What did you get?
Just came back from a 4 days trekking through mount Valin, somewhere close to my place. Had the chance to use every piece of equipment I bought myself for Christmas, and it was a blast! -4F the first day with shiny sun to 5F and snowstorm for the last day of my trek. Gathered a huge 25cm (10'') of snow overnight which changed the whole scenery. I can never get enough of the outdoor activities Quebec has to offer!
