Homework help
So i'm taking a college course Relation Database Concepts.
Well we have a list of relational algebra questions we have to figure out and I can't figure this one out to save my life. Any help would be appreciated.
List the number and date of all orders that were placed on 10/20/2013 or that were placed by a customer whose rep number is 20
List the number and date of all orders that were placed on 10/20/2013 by a customer whose rep number is 20
List the number and date of all orders that were placed on 10/20/2013 but not by a customer whose rep number is 20.
Thanks ahead of time!!

Re: Homework help
The names of the tables
Rep(RepNum, LastName, FirstName, Street, City, State, Zip, Commission, Rate) Customer( CustomerNum, CustomerName, Street,City,State,Zip,Balance,CreditLimit,RepNum) Orders(OrderNum,OrderDate,CutomerNum) Orderline(OrderNum,PartNum,NumOrdered,QuotedPrice) Part(PartNum, Desciption,OnHand,Class,Warehouse,Price)
Example of what I am talking about
List the number and name of those customers that have orders or are represented by sales rep 65, or both.
JOIN Orders, Customer WHERE Orders.CustomerNum=Customer.CustomerNum GIVING Temp1 PROJECT Temp1 OVEr CustomerNum, CustomerName GIVING Temp2 SELECT Customer WHERE RepNum="65" GIVING Temp3 PROJECT Temp3 OVER CustomerNum, CustomerName GIVING Temp4 UNION Temp2 WITH Temp4 GIVING Answer
Hopefully someone can help me with this.

Re: Homework help
I can help you but I still don't understand what the real problem is. How many possible solutions are there? Is that the question?

Re: Homework help
I have to come up with this part JOIN Orders, Customer WHERE Orders.CustomerNum=Customer.CustomerNum GIVING Temp1 PROJECT Temp1 OVEr CustomerNum, CustomerName GIVING Temp2 SELECT Customer WHERE RepNum="65" GIVING Temp3 PROJECT Temp3 OVER CustomerNum, CustomerName GIVING Temp4 UNION Temp2 WITH Temp4 GIVING Answer
from List the number and name of those customers that have orders or are represented by sales rep 65, or both.
Like if I wanted to create a table from the question given using relational algebra.
