Just wondering if n00b has any plans to put up a team fortress server. I'd personally love it if they did and I think im not the only one who wishes they had one.

I tried to play tf2 the other day for a few min. There was only a hand full of servers with multiple people in them. I don't think there's enough interest atm...


I vote for the "get on vent and find people who want to play" route

I don't know if you were trying to say that TF2 doesn't have a lot of players anywhere playing, cause you must have had filters in play. TF2 is one of the biggest multiplayer games at the moment not including mmo's, but is still up there. I don't have issues finding players or places to play, but would like to play in a more supervised server that has people's best interests at play instead of bullshit ads and such. The other day i was in a server that people kept team stacking and making the gameplay shitty because of it. It was the same faggots and they were purposely teamstacking and most people were suspecting they were cheating as well. But I wonder if we took a vote and checked to see if a lot of people would want it? And of course I'm not suggesting n00b invest or spend money towards this, my understanding is that n00b rents a BOX which I believe can run multiple games and servers on it. If so, and wouldn't cost money to put up a server, why wouldn't we? Correct me if im wrong about any of this though, just been on my mind lately.

We've tried twice, once completely unsuccessful and another time we put a lot of effort and time into and it still failed after a month.

We've run TF2 servers in the past. It's not hard to set them up, either -- I could have one running in about an hour or so. The problem is that we'd have to find/install/configure mods to work with it, and that takes time. Is that time worth it when very few n00bfest members play tf2? probably not.

Do what other folks said -- get in vent and try to muster some interest. If you get folks regularly playing tf2 in vent and there's enough community-wide interest, we can toss up a TF2 server and see how it goes.
