Post 125 Havard Students suspected of cheating
http://www.boston.com/metrodesk/2012/08 ... story.html

First caught my eye while reading the WSJ, but here's Short Summary: 125 students in a class roughly of 250 students were suspected of cheating on an take-home exam via violation of a non-collaboration statement printed at the top of the exam. The exam was apparently a paper for a government science class. I am not sure if all 125 students worked together as one unit, or oppositely as pairs, but how the F*CK did you get caught cheating on a take home exam.

I think:

1. Harvard is obviously not as intelligent as they're put out to be if they'll send students home with work, and expect them not to collaborate and come up with answers as a team.

2. The students are F*CKING morons, it was printed on the top of the test that you had to do the work by yourself. Some of them were dumb enough to have identical answers. Who ever would have though that taking some extra time to rearrange the answers, and change it up a bit could be a good idea.

This is Harvard's test. If you pass, you get your diploma.

All sorts of people went there. Lots of terrible shit happened in Illinois, are you going to blame The Great Chicago Fire on him too?

LOL @you taking it so literal and seriously. Learn to tell the difference between jokes and seriousness, serious posts are for the NSFW section

Hey did you know Obama got to Hawaii because the Japanese put him there when they attacked Pearl Harbor?

For the most part I would say it is safe to say that 98% of college students have cheated on an assignment, test etc. Not just college but high school students fall into this as well so I don't see why the authors and all the comments I see on blogs etc are so shocked.

i saw a great video about how forcing children, and young adults, to learn and come to solutions is ruining our ability to succeed. it's collaboration that has brought us our greatest discoveries and inventions throughout time. and as the age old saying goes, "two heads are better than one." it's in our nature to work together to solve problems and make progress.

When you say ludicrous stuff 24/7 it's hard to tell what's "joking" and what's serious. Either way- I guarantee more of them cheated. I know tons of people that have had a take home or online test that have taken the easy route, myself included.

lol my favorite experience when was in a history class of mine, we had a map quiz, i started filling it out and immediately realized the pattern.
if it was A through G the order went like this, (if you cant see it A goes in the top blank, the b in the last, then c in the next top, and d in the next lower.
A
C
E
G
F
D
B

Pretty sure the entire class got an A on that.

The instructor for the course is a joke. Surprised Harvard even has him -- but equal opportunity / affirmative action blah blah.
