I've heard lot of good things about Dayz, but I can't seem to do shit with it. I managed to finally find a few items, knife, flares, bandage and some chem sticks. Somehow the chem sticks replaced my knife and I couldn't figure out how to switch my knife back. Is it just me or is this the best worst game out there right now? Between the 1000 different controls and random key mapping, I can't figure out how to do shit lol. Anyone play that could give me some pointers or something? I see some people running around in camo with rifles shooting at me, but i can't even weild a knife properly. HELP!?

Dayz is probably one of the hardest games if you have no idea what you are doing. It is not noob friendly I suggest playing with a group of people that know what they are doing to help you out. I normally play with mossy and money but we all been busy lately so we kind of play at random times.

1st piece of advice the knife is only used for gutting animals for meat its not a weapon the only melee weapons in the game right now are hatchets and crowbars.

2nd piece of advice figure out where the hell you are

Yea, the hatchet, i dont think thats a weapon anymore... I can't equip it as one, and when i right click it it just says harvest. Bah... my system is too shitty to run it anyway =/ I need a new computer so badly but cant find a job =/

To equip the hatchet, you need to click remove from toolbelt. Then you need to reload the hatchet.

wow... you should see the foliage on my shitty pc lol, doesnt look like that haha. it just looks like crab grass everywhere haha
