Hey guys. So like many members and non members, i've not been able to play in the CSS server for the main reason of just literally having no one in it to play with. Since the CS GO release, guild wars, minecraft, and other games, the server has 0 people in it 80% of the time now. I've had multiple people say to me that they're usually playing GO because no one is in the CSS server. I normally have to sit in it empty for like 20 min until a n00b member joins me and then it usually only takes like 10 minutes before we're up to 10 people in there. I personally hate bots but I dont know how else to get people to start joining without having people (bots) in it at all times so that there's always action going on. I've seen servers where there are only like 6 bots and they get replaced as people join and seems like the best way to go about this. There was almost 15 n00b members alone on yesterday in the server, so i know its not a matter of members just not feeling like playing anymore because of GO, its just no one wants to sit in a server with 0 people in it for 20 or so minutes until a few join, so no one bothers to join at all and just goes elsewhere. I dont think the overflow server is really doing a good job at sending people back to the new main server either. Seems to just be splitting the amount of people if anything.

Please understand that I am NOT criticizing, insulting, or shitting on the server or the way its being run in any way. This community is F*CKING awesome and I am dying to become part of it and help it grow. So Gman and the rest of the council, if there's anything I can do to help, please let me know.

if you can get at least one person on steam to come in and play usually it wont take long for more to follow suit. the forums and vent are iffy. I would just add more regulars to your friends list and talk to whoevers online. A lot of the people who visit the forums frequently almost never play CS, and vent is usually stuffed up with lol queers and gay wars 2.

I'm in the main right now and there is 18 players. Not sure why everyone here keeps complaining its empty, everytime i log in its at LEAST half full.

You guys need to accept the fact that alot of gamers are jumping ship to CS:GO, this should come as no surprise since source came out in 2004.
We don't need more "ZOMG pub is dying!!! ZOMG!" we know players are leaving it for GO, thats the evolution of gaming, players left 1.6 for CZ, then left Cz for source, now they are leaving source for go.

If anyone considers 18 players a "dead pub" need to be greatfull that not everyone has jumped ship yet, but they will after a few months. My advice is to buy CS:Go its F*CKING 15 bucks, u can do day labor for a night and buy the F*CKING game, just get used to it now cuz source as of now is dying but it has a long way to go.
Sorry if this seemed like a rant, just tired of the "ZOMG server is dead" shit and then i log in and its full or damn near close to it.

You're lucky if the server has 15 people every time you log on. I've joined a completely dead server at least a dozen times.(Completely dead meaning 100% empty.)

I wouldn't say source is dying yet. GO is still in it's initial beginning phase. Everyone always buys the new games. But new games don't always go the distance. A lot tend to die out fairly quickly. Some people will come back to source, and some will completely move on. Just gotta give it some time before we can be positive. Which is why I bought GO. I don't like it very much. But if Source dies, I at least want a general idea of how to play GO, lol.

Yea, i obviously wouldn't be suggesting all this if there was 18 people in it at the time...

Also I'd like to point out that more people played 1.6 then CSS prior to the GO release, now GO is barely beating 1.6. I can see people finally giving up on 1.6 to move onto GO though since Valve is wanting to make GO the source looking version of 1.6 which they failed to do with CSS.

They actually want it more like 1.5 than 1.6, if what I've read is correct. But they also want some of the Source concepts to be maintained or expanded upon. I still haven't played it yet, so meh.

GO was made to be more competitive. You actually have to aim, there isn't as much spray and pray like source.

Scrubs with no aim aren't going to like GO. There's also a lot that could be fixed like stupid buy menus and other misc. bullshit.

And people actually played CZ? That's news to me. Pretty sure it's supposed to go, CS ~> CS:S ~> CS:GO

I like this guy. And yes spraying is a huge no in GO, I could literally hold down my mouse button and run around in CSS and get kills. That's not a option in GO.

They should implement the option to have 'classic style' menus such as the option available in 1.6

I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually add that in.

But maybe because they have all this 'pro' feedback for GO, they will.

Careful... ALOT of people in this community started in CZ, myself included. It was where alot of things came together for n00bfest IMO. Its like talking shit about your Alma Mater. Might not end well for ya
