Post Headsets!
Currently i have a Gamecom 777but its become a bit dated.

So im in the market again..

My main choice is the The Steelseries V2

My question also is that they sell the Siberia V2 in 2 ways.. This one with a usb or the one above without it.
Is there a difference? Would it just be worth it for the USB sound card?

also anyother suggestions on headsets
I'd like to keep it below $120.

Thanks :D

I'm gonna go with Konner's pick from the Enlightened Viet thread about 'audiophile' information:

I'd recommend someone buy a good pair of HD-555s and a zalman clip-on mic before considering any "gaming" headset. The quality of headsets vary wildly, and are usually made in cheapo factories. I've had these 555s for years and have dropped them multiple times and they still work great. They are also the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn.

Also, I'm someone who has used both headset replacements you've mentioned. I'm gonna definitely say no.

Thanks Kwang. The 555s also make music and movies sound like heaven. Love these cans

Well thanks for the input, but i simply cannot drop $200 on them.
Plus paying for a clip on mic. I know Sennheiser makes top of the line stuff, but they are also extremely expensive.

if you want something more budget, get a mic and a jvc rx700 or the rx900
they sound great for the price, plug them straight into your sound card and you're good to go, then just get some mic >_>

The only issue I have with my new headphones with the USB jack over the old ones, is that you have to plug it in before you run anything with sound. So I can't plug my headphones in while playing CSS, I have to leave the game and then come back in after I plugged them in. Sound wise I wouldn't know since I went from a cheap set to a nice 7.1 Surround Sound set.

I believe you may want to look at this. They may not be the 360's but they are still purty good!! http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-PC-350-Collapsible-Microphone/dp/B0012XFDWO aalso here are a few other recommendations:

Go with the 3.5mm jacks instead of the USB. You will be able to use the headphones with other things such as phones/mp3 players, and not just your pc.

Also if you want to wait they are releasing the Siberia V2 Frost soon which are F*CKIN sexy as hell with the led lights ,check them out and the CS:GO editions are out now I think as well.

Wow, the frost are beautiful. ♥
I'm sold, they come with the USB sound card.
I'm waiting for them. They are beautiful.
Searching for a release date gave me nothing but quarter 2 of the fiscal period.
So hopefully soon.

Your face is dated. I use headsets till they break. Unless they're broken... why? lol

I'll post what I posted in Joemama's thread as it is still my current status in the headphones department. Though I think my choice might be out of your price range and a bit of a overkill

what I posted in Joemama's thread wrote:
Well now these days I actully run a pair of these:

I hope within the next month or two to be running these:

I think I found with the PC 360's that I found the best combination of Sennheiser sound quality and PC practicality. I am also excited to try out "open ended" headphones as I've always have had closed ones. I do find the price tag F*CKING horrid though but I think I'll suck it up and try it out.

The carcharias is the shit. I've been using those for a couple of years.

Except that if you hook the cord with your chair a couple times and they hit the floor they're pretty much done for.

I guess I'm just an airhead. Actually I know I am. I happen to prefer wireless headphones because I have a habit of standing up really fast to do something (like say I forget I have soup on the stove or some shit) and then take off running. I've broken like 5 pair of Steelseries headsets just from accidentally running over the cord a few times (or the standing up thing). At one point I had taken 3 different versions of the 5Hv2's and turned them into a franken headset by disassembling them all and then reassembling one functional headset out of all the parts that hadn't been destroyed. But that's just me. I buy things for build quality.
