 Gman and Strange are moving (broadband by october)We're moving to a rich white neighborhood called Spring Lake Hills in northwest San Marcos, TX.
We drove around the neighborhood for a while and the only minority I saw was this mexican with a truck and lawnmower (I assume his name is Manuel and he's the friendly neighborhood landscaper). I've been very scarce lately because I've been helping rennovate a rental property, packing, and helping clean up the house/property I live in to make it ready to be a rental property. The contract on the house my family is buying closes in the end of August. We'll be moving in then, and we should be fully moved in and unpacked within a week or so of the start of September. I'll be calling the cable companies in the neighborhood and asking them about their speeds and the numbers of users on the node I'd be on and shit. I'll be able to get 1.5M/256k DSL for $40/month (with the discount given when you buy their telephone service) if I don't like the cable figures. The real estate agent we're working with is a fairly successful woman. She's made thousands off of us (we sold 200 acres and a big house with a big yard in downtown San Marcos through her... AND we're buying this new property through her). She offered to help me find a job at one of the local bars (big university in the town) that a friend of hers owns.
