 The New Build Starts
Im pretty happy. With the addition of BF3 and now SWTOR, it became apparent that I needed a new rig. I am gonna do what I can to nurse this one along till tax season, but I have started by ordering a EVGA 560TI and another 2gb of ram for this pc, but that will be my final upgrade for this rig... I am currently planning an I7 build as soon as the tax returns come in. I am setting about $300 aside each paycheck and getting what I can outta the way. Anyhow, the card and ram are ordered and should be here mid-week next week, so I cant wait. I hope this helps keep this rig going just a little bit longer. I will be using this card to SLI on the new rig. Thanks for letting me share my enthusiasm with you all. Jon

 Re: The New Build Starts
I'm thinking about building a new system with one of the new sandybridge e (socket LGA 2011) chips. Not sure what my taxes are going to look like this year, but I'm hoping to get enough back to build a new rig and go to Ireland for a week or so. Needless to say, Ireland is more important, so I may have to wait on building a new rig... but mmm sandybridge sexiness.

Well, Im happy to report that I am reporting from my new pc. Fantastic rig. everythings running ok and I will have pics up shortly. i7 2700K/P8P67 Deluxe Mobo, 16gb of Kingston Hyper 1600 ram, Hyper 212 evo cooler, Thermaltake 850w powersupply, and still running my EVGA GTX 560 TI superclocked with another on the way shortly. Re: The New Build Starts
Is getting 16GB's of ram any different?? I have 8 right now, but an extra 8 of the same RAM I have is only $40...is there a big difference in the system??

On a side note to the rest of the thread. As far as gaming goes you'll get the best increase by GFX Card or processor.. Unless, of course, you have a very small amount of ram.. I would recommend the GTX 560 TI 448 Core, it will play anything out right now at reasonable frame rates, plus it overclocks like a beast. I would say if you had the money go Intel, but if your on a tight budget go with a Phenom II Black Edition Quad 3.0 ghz or better.

 Re: The New Build Starts
I couldnt answer that anyhow, this is a completely new rig for me with nothing reused from my old one, so I couldnt tell you how any other way is yet. I will shortly be able to give u a comparison between sli and single card, as I am getting another card tomorrow. In time I will also be happy to share my opinions on what I saw between 1 HD and 3 in a RAID0 config as I have a second with a third coming soon.

Re-Do your rig with a nice SATA III SSD for your OS/Programs and HDDs for storage.
