Since I work at a liquor store, I am always able to sample new and relatively obscure microbrews almost every day. I'm hooked on a new one:

21st Amendment Brewing company. F*CKING love these guys. Love their can art, too. Very American (I'm a bigtime fan of Americana).

The specific beer is called Back in Black, which is a black IPA, which is utterly amazing. Its taste starts as an IPA (hoppy, piney, fresh, crisp, bittersweet) and finishes like IPAs normally do but with an awesome nutty, caramel finish similar to many stouts I've had. Very unique.



The other beers I've had from them are their Hop Crisis Imperial IPA and their Brew Free or Die! IPA. Both are fantastic. The Brew Free or Die! IPA was fresh and just a very well-made IPA. The Hop Crisis Imperial IPA was just utterly amazing. VERY POTENT in both body and alcohol content. Devastatingly hoppy. I loved it.

I would recommend these guys highly.

Oh man that sounds delicious. I need to find out where it may be available. An IPA AND a dark beer? Together? OMGSWEETJESUS

So I just picked up the 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon and its soooo weird! Not bad weird, just interesting. Its like... a Belgian Wheat beer and a hint of watermelon. I can see it being refreshing on a hot day.

It's a craft beer; they probably have a small brewery and a limited distribution area. I'll have to try that the next time I'm up in the northeast.

ok so my friend says its against the law to ship beer so il have to label it live yeast culture and he will bring me some in the next week wen it is done conditioning

Just by looking at the can art I can tell there serious about brewing beer, or just like to draw...

I was up in Winston Salem, NC last weekend visiting my brother (he's getting his Ph.D at Wake Forest) and they have all kinda shit for off-the-wall breweries and whatnot. They have this awesome beer and wine shop there that I went to check out to see if they had it. Unfortunately, it was gonna be about 2 weeks before they had the 21st amendment stuff in stock. SO still interested in a black IPA (never had one before) I checked out a Sprecher Black IPA (it was actually pretty good...like a dark, malty beer but with a very noticeable hoppy flavor) and another IPA, which interested me, which was named Hoptimus Prime by Ruckus brewing company. Pictured below is the Hoptimus Prime...I liked it a lot too.



The Black IPA was well, black - had a good, thick head, too. It was very tasty! Thanks for inspiring me to find this Black IPA and finding another one that was worthwhile!
