Unfair. The ref called time to take points away and still had yet to say fight. FFS HE WASNT EVEN LOOKING AT THEM. The fighters dont start fighting when they please. Its up to the ref who was clearly consulting with the judges. Even he was shocked about what happened and started counting. Its complete bullshit. Joe Cortez is a terrible ref imo and always has been.

Floyd, you talk about how youre the best fighter in the world and undefeated as you walk into the ring with Ben Rothlesberger and 50 cent and yet you havnt proved A F*CKING THING. You take fights you know you can win decisively not fights that will challenge you. That will push you to your athletic limit and force you to dig deep and show your true talent. The Floyd I saw in there tonight was a Floyd that would get DECIMATED by a fast, hungry, POWERFUL Manny Pacquio. you call steroids because you're scared. Scared to lose your thunder. Scared to lose your record. Scared everyone will see you as the fighter you are...AVERAGE. Fight Manny Pac and show youre a man. Show youre an athlete who can rise to the occasion and overcome overwhelming odds like the greats before you. Honestly? Right now you look like a F*CKING bum. Ali didnt duck anyone......

Boxing is the one sport I really enjoy. I didn't get to watch this and it ticks me off. Can't wait to see the bout somewhere on Youtube or elsewhere.

Fair...if you want to blame someone blame the old as F*CK ref who is retarded in not putting the boxers in their neutral corners before a point deduction..."Defend Yourself at ALL times"!!!

After mayweather had tried to choke him out during the weigh ins. Gayweather is just a bum plain and simple. the entire fight card was fixed from the start. out of the 4 main card fights 3 were controversial and BS. 1 was a 3 weight class champ vs a 20 year old nobody on 3 weeks notice that was turned into a championship bout so the other guy could be the first mexican to win 4 belts in 4 weight classes. Ohh yea he was a Golden boy fighter (gayweathers camp). The fight after that was a horrible early stoppage by the ref. The guy who won was in his hometown fighting for a hometown crowd in LA. He was destined to win from the start. Ref runs in and stops the fight as the other fighter is CLEARLY defending himself intelligently and wasnt in trouble AT ALL. Ohh yea the winner was also a Golden Boy Fighter. Funny how that is....

Im not standing up for Ortiz at all because a headbutt is a headbutt BUT floyd is still a piece of shit in my book.

Boxing is extremely corrupt and whoever says it isnt doesnt watch boxing at all.

WTF #1: Ortiz said he tried to back up or whatever but instead did a headbutt forward
WTF #2: Mayweather doing a cheap 1-2 even though ruled as legal was still bs and cheap for a multi belted champion
WTF #3: Ref leaving 2 fighters that close near next to him while talking to a judge. A headbutt is a headbutt, deduct and continue the fight (I don't know if it was a foul that would stop the fight or not)
LOL #1?: Mayweather talkin shit to the old interview guy (apparently he gives Mayweather a bad rap everytime) at the end

Post Re: Mayweather Vs. Ortiz
was talking to a friend of mine a little bit ago. Was watching the fight as his house last night and he decided to rewatch it today a couple of times. I cant confirm it atm but he says that floyd looked down, stepped on ortiz' foot and then punched him. THATS illegal. Im trying to get a clip of the KO to confirm it myself but if its true all remaining respect goes out the window.

He didn't step on his foot. Dunno why this is such a big deal. The ref clapped his hands together signaling fight and Mayweather touched his gloves not realizing that Ortiz was about to hug him for the 3rd time after the headbutt thought he was trying to wrap him up(even though a weak wrap up at max) and got a knockout. Doesn't really matter if you have respect for him and I'm sure he doesn't care if you do. When you are that big and your celebrity personality is that type, he would probably rather have you hate him than like him.

It wasn't cheap in the moment in the eyes of Mayweather, he put up his gloves after the touch with the intent to fight not knowing what Ortiz was about to do. As a spectator it was because we saw the entire circumstance of the knockout with Ortiz going for the hug and not fighting. After the fact he knows it probably was, but when the ref said fight and they touched gloves, it's time to go and he went.

I need to find the last few minutes of the fight. He prob did touch gloves and most likely should've continued the fight but wth was the ref doing looking away idk I gotta find a clip. I never saw the weigh-ins but if it leaves any mark then I'd count it as a choke.

http://thephresh.com/fights/video-repla ... d-headbutt

Headbutt at 0:40 and signal to fight to glove touch to KO at like 1:05.

There will probably be a highly publicized rematch in Dec or Jan of 2012/2013 because of the knockout and it will be a longer fight that Mayweather will win due to early rounds carrying him into late and letting people down about the underdog that got cheap shotted winning or a flashy knockout either way. Pacquiao won't get to fight him because they are both too stubborn to give up any ground and unfortunately with Manny being the only person with anything to prove, he'll have to drop the idea of not doing the Olympic style drug testing and have blood drawn right before the fight instead of his idea of testing immediately after the fight is over. Kinda wish it would happen though just to see the amount of money that it would draw in since this last fight Mayweather got about 40 mill in this one.

Yeah, I can see why people might have gotten mad. But the ref obviously told them to start fighting again. EOS> Mayweather wins.

BTW, Thanks for the link, I was wondering why people were mad.

Well I'm sure if they both had the choice, it wouldn't have ended like that.

I think the Referee tried to explain the headbutt, the last punch and how he continued the fight. He didn't know wth the 2nd and 3rd hugs were for.
