Apparently he had 3 Miller Lites and 3 shots over a 4 hour period and didn't appear to be drunk when he left. It sounds like he was just driving too fast.

Also, just remembered. I read on Reddit that there's speculation that it's a joke. He pretended to die and the reactions of friends and family members were recorded for the next Jackass movie. April Margera (Bam's mom) supposedly was in on it.

But then again, this is the internet. And you can't believe everything you read...
