Flying bear kills two Canadians in freak accident

OTTAWA (Reuters) – Two Canadians died instantly in a freak accident when a car hit a 440-pound (200-kg) black bear and sent the animal flying straight through the windshield of an oncoming vehicle, local media said Wednesday.

The bear's body hit the 25-year-old driver and a 40-year-old man sitting behind her and then shot out of the back window. The bear also died.

The accident happened Monday night in a rural area about 25 miles north of the federal capital Ottawa.

"We don't see (this) often, even if we live in the country. Lots of deer, but collisions with a bear and two people died? That's really rare," local police spokesman Martin Fournel told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.

Collisions between vehicles and animals are common in Canada, which has a healthy population of large wild animals such as moose and deer.

Someone texting and driving. That must be it. How the hell can you not see a bear in front of you?

Why would you run your car into a black bear for shits and giggles? Saw that story in the paper the other day and the cars involved were F*CKING mangled, those bears can do damage. I feel bad for the woman and the guy who died, they had nothing to do with the original accident, they were just driving by in the opposite lanes and some dumbass who wasn't paying any F*CKING attention hits a bear into there path that takes the roof of there car clean off.

I've never heard of anyone hitting a bear before. That's just crazy.
I know a guy that hit a moose with his pickup (Ford F-250) and the animal totaled the truck.

A lady speeding, she, I guess she wanted to see the deer from up close or something.. Because that deer never saw her coming.. The car.. Well let's just say it didn't do any good to the car or the deer.. But the lady.. She's just in shock.. And now she's really going to be laid..

I saw an eighteen wheeler after it hit a black bear, wow was that truck fucked up! It was one of those flat front trucks witht he engine underneatht he cab, lets just say the driver was lucky to have hit the bear in the middle or it would crushed him to death. The bear walked away after being hit and died 50 feet off the road.

I'm surprised this didn't happen in the south with all the stupid people we have around here. Sometimes I get mad at the news for depicting us as brainless rednecks but sometimes that is what most of the people around here are...

What's hilarious is that normally people usually try to steer around it and ends up crashing. Normally its better just to hit them but for this case, didn't work out as well ;p
