So get this...
That RAM that DHL lost was claimed as a lost package from Newegg. They went ahead and shipped me a whole new order of 6GB RAM with the newest revision. I got that package last week, but couldn't mix it with my older version RAM. It was the same exact RAM, just had different parts from different suppliers. Today, I checked the mail to find that somehow the package got UNLOST and ended up in my mailbox ANYWAY.

Can someone give me a YAH BITCH, YAH for free RAMS!!!!!!!!!!
I was having huge issues with getting the computer to boot with this RAM even standalone, but later on I found that the RAM itself wasn't faulty at all.. oh no... you see... when I press my Dimms in the dimm slot, the motherboard bent in very slightly from the pressure, and cause the Asus Matrix Platinum 5870 PCIE video card to have its ass-end barely sticking out of the slot, which kept the system from posting. I pushed it back into the slot, and here are the results.

P.S: This also means I have 3x2GB of DDR3 @ 1600 mhz just sitting here with nothing to do with it. The RAM is 100% awesome and working. I just can't mix the revisions up. The new RAM uses 3.2A, and the RAM I got a year back was 2.1. No difference in the chipset other than the parts that make up the chip itself. Anyone interested in buying it for $50+shipping let me know ;).

Also, my sound card died, which means I'll be getting a new Xonar from ASUS, but I'm wondering if it'd be good for audio production. I hear great things about these F*CKERS.

Dam I need to install Windows 7 still so I can upgrade my Ram. I just need a new vid card and I should be good for another year or two before needing a replacement.

It's probably the newer version. Evidently, there's two EVGA types. I could be wrong, but I think that's the OC one. Otherwise, it shouldn't be that much. Price should be no more than $200. That's retail, but they discontinued them, so maybe they jacked the price up. However, it's a F*CKING badass card.

EVGA usually has factory overclocked versions of their cards at a higher price as Acid said, but the reason why this particular card is so expensive is because it is water cooled, as opposed to the regular version's standard heatsink/fan based cooling. And Acid is right that they jacked up the price thanks to it being a discontinued product.

Hobo: in Win Vista or Win 7: Start -> right-click on Computer -> Properties. You should get here: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System. Under System section you have Rating with the Windows Experience Index which will show you more details (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools). In Vista max is 5.9, in 7 it's 7.9.

If you want to measure your system performance in XP you can use http://www.passmark.com/products/pt.htm (I believe it's 30 day trial) and then compare the results on following sites: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/, http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/, http://www.harddrivebenchmark.net/, http://www.passmark.com/baselines/index.php.

i have 8 gygs and that is still more than I have ever used, still 12 gygs will run some great video software
