 Brisket recipe
Buy a brisket, (About a 20 lbs worth) make sure you can bend it in half at the store. If it won't bend in half, it's crap!
Next, cook it at 225 degrees, fatty side up, for around 8-10 hours or so. Add a full bottle of Dale's marinade. (You can also add a small bottle of liquid smoke if you like) We usually put it on before bed then wake up to deliciousness in the air. Mmmmmm.

When it gets done, use a food processer to shred it up. If you don't have one, use a knife to cut it up into small bits. Include the fat!
Next add Frank's RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce to taste. I added about a pint to the one I took to Austin and it turned out just right. I bought the 1/2 gallon one at Sams and added half the bottle.

Stir the crap out of it and you're done. Enjoy!

 Re: Brisket recipe

 Re: Brisket recipe
Good call on bending it in half -- most folks don't know that shit.

 Re: Brisket recipe
Also slicing it like a loaf of bread is a good way to cut it up as well

 Re: Brisket recipe
nothing beats slow roasting in a old propane tank converted to a trailer pit, with a pure mesquite fire, for 16 hours. Talk about F*CKING delicious. I eat all of my bbq with mesquite. Of course I grew up in South Tx, were mesquite is plentiful. No special seasonings, just some beer and the basics!

I've been using pecan hulls to smoke shit lately and it's boss. Pecan hulls + applewood or mesquite = boss.

 Re: Brisket recipe
Since this is beyond me, I found this place where you can buy pre-cooked briskets. What do you think? http://www.nbsmokehouse.com/item.asp?itm=975B

I want to try this but unlike you I dont have anywhere here that sells pecan shells. CT BLOWS ASS FOR THIS KIND OF FOOD.

 Re: Brisket recipe
Holy smokes! (pun intended) Not for 50 bucks! I can go down the street and get a 20 lbs brisket for about a dollar a pound! That's expensive as all get out, wow.
