Post Sig Pistols?
dear n00bfest, i have a question for anyone of you that knows a thing or two about buying pistols...I have always been a gun owner, but always been more of a rifles/shotgun type of guy.

Recently I have been looking at buying a pistol. Since im a newb when it comes to shooting handguns im looking for a quality, affordable, weapon.

Ive been looking around online and i stumbled upon a "SIG E20229B SIGPRO 9MM 1MAG EXT GRP" (google it if you want to see what im talking about). its affordable, and ive heard Sigs are great guns.

so what do you guys think about this stuff? anybody have any great ideas about what gun to get without breaking my bank account?

discuss?

I owned a H&K P30 that I paid 900 for. Could hit what I wanted, but un-naturally. I had to aim higher than I was "pointing". I assume a smith can fix that, but most people won't get that done.

At the range I tried a guy's sig .40. DDespite the bigger caliber, I didn't feel more recoil, and best of all I hit exactly what I was pointing at. Basically didn't even have to aim down the sights. If I need to buy a pistol again it will 80% be a sig.

I don't like Sig's handguns because the way they feel in my hand + the 12 mile trigger pull on them, but that's because they're primarily used by law enforcement.

CZ75 > all 9mm handguns as far as I'm concerned.

I think Sig Pistols are great weapons; however, this depends on what you want to use them for.

I have this Sig SP2022 and I use it as a carry pistol only....it carries 15 rounds in the clip and one in the chamber....I fired over 500 rounds through it to break it in and its accurate.

The only thing I dont like about this gun is the trigger...Look at the pictures of the this trigger and before you buy it rent it and fire it and see if you like it......

Always keep this in mind...I know from several cops that 9mm guns do not have enough stopping power and it's why almost no more law enforcement in the world will carry this caliber
weapon...The reason I dont like or trust this weapon for my home is that I feel when shooting it in the range you cannot pull the trigger fast enough to get off good doubles and then fire
again....for some reason the trigger on the SP2022 seems slow and sluggish to me.

Had I rented this gun and fired it at the range I would never had bought it. I use it only as a general purpose carry weapon and NEVER for home protection.

When you need a home gun to defend your house a .40 or .45 caliber gun is absolutely necessary unless you are an EXPERT marksmen that is well trained in offensive and defensive tactics when
using fire arms.

If you want to get a Sig try the P229 DAK in the .40 caliber or the P220 in the .45 caliber....when your life depends on stopping the bad guys with one or two bullets these guns will get the job
done! http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCa ... ductid=119..

Look at the difference in the trigger on the P229 DAK.....how much thicker and bigger it is....I assure you this gun fires much faster and is better over all then the SP2022
You will be much happier with this Sig if you can pony up the 750.00 dollars for it...its a great weapon.
