 Google
So today I received in the mail my Google CR-48 netbook. This thing is pretty F*CKING sweet. fast as hell. Sadly its all web based and since its in beta there isnt a whole bunch of cool shit on it yet. But for a free laptop is F*CKING sweet. If anyone is interested this is where you apply. http://www.google.com/chromeos/pilot-program-cr48.htmlI applied for it back in december and i got it today.

 Re: Google
Not 100% on the acronyms here but Verizon uses CDMA and AT&T uses HSPA -- not compatible; they're different bands. You should know that.

 Re: Google
This looks sweet, just applied. Did they contact you before they shipped the laptop? I am going to be moving and I'd hate to have this sent to the house I no longer live at...

No they dont contact you. They literally leave it on your front door step. I was leaving yesterday with my wife to go run some errands and I was like wtf is this box here. When I opened it up I was in disbelief. The thing is F*CKING awesome though. I love it.

ATT uses GSM/TDMA for voice and HSPA for data afaik but I meant more of "Do you have to get a whole Verizon plan or can you pay only for data like through google?" Sheesh. ♥

Sheesh. ♥ The plan is free and has no contract with Verizon Wireless. Its not like your cell phone plan or anything like that. It has like built in mifi that comes from VZW at 100mb a month for free for 2 years. They also allow you to purchase plans if you need more than 100mb a month.
