You're going to want a cooling pad for that laptop.

Is what I use. Laptops with a reasonable amount of power overheat quickly, which fries everything. I've blasted five hard drives on this thing, and three video cards. I've melted off some of the paint on the keyboard because it got too hot. The cooling pad managed to fix most of those problems.
EDIT:
Also, don't get one that plugs into the USB port, as that just taxes the computer and heats it up more, get a 120v to USB converter from like radioshack or something, it's real useful :D
