 A Cause Worth Standing For
http://stopvirgin.movielol.org/
I think this is a pretty big issue for many of the same reasons in the video.
n00bfest is an amazing community full of great people but if we let corporations like Virgin Media set a trend like this, it might all be over.
Net neutrality in my opinion has always been an important issue. It's one of the few places that large money hungry corporations don't have control over.
I say F*CK virgin media and F*CK any ISP's that are planning to follow suit.

If you expect me to pay any sort of attention to that video, she better cover up those tits because otherwise I'll be far too distracted to care.

Hell, I'm all ears if I get to see more.
Edit: I kind of got the feeling that this is only a problem for these kids because they must live on the Internet? They talk about it like equal rights activists. "We are the victims" "Interweb is gonna die as we know it, it'll go back to the days when we were all using 56K!!! SPEAK OOOT!!"
Don't underestimate the power you have over the Internet as a user??? How about if a corporation wants something done, they get it done. What a meaningless movement.
Edit 2: OMG, He said it.. "This is where we live" I was joking, and he actually says it in the video.

LOL, I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed that right off the bat. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_06
And yeah, I agree with net neutrality. That's one of the things I really like about the internet is it's open nature. You take a way that and you lose what makes the internet, the internet.
EDIT: Watching the video a little more, I really think they should've rehearsed the video abit. I'm not expecting news channel quality or anything like that, but when most of the people are mumbling and stuttering like crazy, it makes it really difficult to understand what they're protesting...plus it makes it look like they really didn't put any thought into it.

advertisements on the internet have little to no effect on people. u often see banners on websites from big corporations but how affective are they? noone clicks them. they're totally ignored. they don't have the ability to control what people people share or see unless ISP's follow the example of Virgin Media.
It's not that we're going to go back to 56K or w/e. certain things will b much harder to obtain. it will probably b nearly impossible to torrent. and any easily accessible websites will probably require a paid subscription.
even with gaming, all games will probably end up being pay to play computer games. so we would all probably have to start playing WoW

If online ads didn't work they would've been gone a long time ago. Obviously they're doing something right with them. No matter what, there's always going to be a "free" internet. It's kindof like if they made a new version internet2, you'd still have millions of people using the original internet.
Pay to Play games online is something we're gonna have to deal with since any dumb F*CK can get on an MMORPG now. It was awesome back in the day when you could get online without any sort of payment other than the original game.

how often do you find yourself clicking on those adds for a free ipod or ps3 etc. how often have u heard of people clicking on them? u may have clicked it urself once if ur life jus to realise its full of shit. there's also when u go to sites like youtube and etc. I.M.V.U. who have u ever heard using it.
also it won't b like theres gonna b the old internet, like how it is now. and a second new internet. there is only one internet. and you won't have much of a choice of all ISP's convert to the ways of Virgin Media. it will end up being like cable TV. u have the basic package with a few channels and deluxe package with all the channels. u get more for the money u pay.

As I said before, if they weren't being clicked on, they wouldn't be there now. That's kinda how advertisements work.
I didn't say there was going to necessarily be a "new" and "old" internet, I was just making an example. There will still be "free" parts of the internet. You can't possibly say that they're going to put blocks like porn site security on every single website made. It seems like if they wanted to do something like that they'd have to create a new form of internet anyway.
