Whats up homo's.

This kinda thing normally belongs in the open forum but per Acid's request, I posted here due to the importance of [n00b] feedback. We wanted to make sure that everyone got to throw their two cents in.

Here's the pitch...

My uncle works for a company that codes and designs iPhone/iPad apps for companies who can't find what they want on the app store in iTunes. Even tho he is my uncle there is a possibility that he might charge us for the app but nowhere near the rate he sells to his customers. Anywho...

If we are gonna go thru the trouble of having a professional iphone application made exclusively for n00bfest, then we want to do it right from the get go. So use this thread to post your thoughts and what you would include on an application. Another good question for the masses would be, should we have a pannel? Give us ideas! Ask each other questions... on subject... hopefully :P

So get to it!

What would the app consist of? Server status, vent updates, easier mobile forum access? (The latter would be more dependent possible on the forum software itself).

I like the idea quite a bit, thought on a personal note I'm not a iPhone user, I am a Droid guy so is there any chance to have both.

I've seen this used with a few other forums I lurk on.

It's a phpBB addon. I've never attempted to use it though.

love the idea, but i'm with tazz on using Android software too. i know iphones are popular, but android is gaining market share. plus, HNIC has an android phone :p

it needs:
- easy forum access
- server status/updates (current map, player list, timeleft?)
- psychostat access?
- shoutbox access?
- could it work with steam friends list? (would be amazing if it could)

i found a couple beta apps for steam on the android market too, but none are able to have chat with friends cause valve/steam doesn't allow it.

Blackberry app too.

I'm all for it, would it work with the Ipad too? Just got one of those two weeks ago.

It needs to maintain the aesthetic of the n00bfest website or otherwise there ought to be a simultaneous refresh done to keep the app and the site looking the same.

i purchased this. all this app does is let you see the steam forums, and buy shit from them. It's not what I'm really thinking.

I'm thinking about integrating, n00bfest forums, n00bfest vent, and psychostats into one app. That's what i have so far. Steamfriends may be a possibility but I really just need a detailed explination of what we need it to do and then i can submit it to him and he can tell me what is realistic.

yeah i'd love the forum access actually, that would be awesome since i don't always have access to a computer even at home!
