First off, im not sure if this is the correct forum for this, so if it isnt, feel free to move it and kick my ass. :)

if any1 has the samsung captivate, or any other android phone (prefferably 1 with flash support) i would like their opinions of it (specific opinions are better). my 18 month upgrade thing is coming up in a couple of months so i want to find a good phone. if any1 has an AT&T phone (any of them), opinions of those would be good too.

i am currently on AT&T (only because my parents pay for it) so i would preffer a phone that is on the AT&T network, or an AT&T network compatible phone, but is not a requirement.

::EDIT:: so we can be clear, please only review AT&T or AT&T compatible phones cause i live with my parents and i am on their AT&T family plan (cause i dont have a job and im going to school). love u all, thanks. :)

no, ur gay. my parents pay for my phone service from AT&T (AT&T family plan since i live at home and have no job and am currently going to school), but i get occasional computer work which pays well so i can buy myself a new phone but not a whole plan. i would love to goto verizon and use the droid x, IT LOOKS GODLY, but i cant afford it.

Milk it as much as you can, Verizon may have a cool network and nice phones but god does it rape your wallet.

o, i am milking it, i am. i was supposed to pay my parents back for the phone when we switched from verizon to at&t early last year (we switched due to verizon not having service near our house, and at&t did, even tho verizon said they were going to have new cell towers up around june or july, and because my mom and sister is evil and likes apple), but since my parents have horrible memories, they totally forgot about it, i only ended up paying $50, which is way better than i would have had to play had i gotten a different phonep, which, at the time at&t didnt have any good phones, so i picked the lesser of 2 evils.

I'm paying $96/mo atm. I'm going to bundle it with my parent's verizon bill at their home though cause that will get me an extra 10-20% off. so It should be around 75-80.

I just bought a Samsung Solstice. It's not bad.

yea, it looks ok and is damn inexpensive. but after having the feature set of the iphone 3gs (the feature set is pretty good, not great, but good, but definitely not implemented well) i dont think i could go back to such a simple phone.

::EDIT:: plus, i cant figure out what OS/Firmware is used on the solstice.

Lucky man hooker, I just got my lowest phone bill at 106 bucks, I've never spent lower than that, my phone bills usually averaged around 150 bucks. Bare in mind though I call (well called) overseas often. Hopefully come this fall it will be dramatically lower than usual as the reason I used to call overseas well, no longer talks to me, so hopefully my shit will go down.

I have my HTC MyTouch now, but I have a 36 month upgrade (Somehow in hell, my HTC isnt even close to 36mths old), but next I will get the MyTouch Slide...I miss the hardware keyboard like my sidekick had.

I recommend finding a Rooted MyTouch and using that. IMO <----

I like my Nokia phone. I wish Google would team up with Nokia so my next phone can be both Nokia, and have the Android OS (though without the touchscreen).

So, rexxer, I suggest Nokia, not that expensive, looks nice, and very durable.

Don't hate on the touch screen, after a week you're a pro. Also, Nokia doesn't deserve to be teamed up with Google. :)

@mindless: i don think he was hating on the touch screen, i think it meant it would be awkward to have an android phone without a touch screen (cause nokia phones dont have touch screens or something, i really dont care).

@garrett: thx for the suggestion, but i really am only looking for an android phone, i think i will be getting the samsung captivate (unless something better comes out, i can only do the upgrade somewhere in february of 2011 i think).

hey go sprint and get Htc evo 4.0 it's a beast and android OS that's my next phone when I get a bit extra money I'm good for upgrade just need the differnce in price oh and I only pay 70$ a month but will pay 80 for the evo cause it's 4g network

Really for what you want you have a few choices first choice would be the samsung captivate, closest your gonna get to iphone like response and screen quality. If that is to expensive for you get the HTC Aria which is another Android ATT phone that's close to par with the rest of the Android pack. The Nexus One is another choice if you want a used non subsidized phone. I take it your over iPhones? I have the iphone 4 for my main phone with a HTC aria backup phone for anytime i may not be able to use my iphones. aka during the May month when i sell whatever iphone i have to but the updated version...


The Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S really) is a great phone and Froyo will make it awesome, if you don't want that get a cheap HTC Aria....

im going to buy the samsung captivate unless something better comes out between now and February of 2011 (which is when my promotional upgrade happens). definitely not getting the htc evo 4g. 4g isnt standardized, so there is very little coverage and who know how fast it actually is on the evo 4g? plus, its sprint, and i need at&t.

F*CK you all with the haten on sprint it's good never had problems with them and they have goodphones I just wish they'd get the htc solstist. And rexxer there most likely will be a new pone out by dec. From att and verizon cause that's when they are lookn to bring their 4g phones into market
