Well just got through cleaning my entire basment because the city of Chocago refuses to fix the sewer system so whenever we get bad rain i get a ft of water in my basement. I was too pissed when i found out the water got so high it was touching my computer . So i have let it sit in the sun for a while just to make sure every thing is all dry and i will be testing it out shortly hopefully all goes well and ill be back in the server tonight.

Deffinetly moving to a house with no below ground basement or getting a condo when i buy my first place next year.

Yeah I have some friends back in Chicago and they were saying cities were underwater and all of these huge floods everywhere

Well F*CK me sideways. The water got so high it covered the bottom 3 inches of my pc killing my mobo. I am out of commission until i get my student loan check, or my parents get the insurance check. God dammit i brought my pc back for a few weeks while i came up here for this family reunion so i could play cs and now i have no pc.



To the best of my knowledge this is how it happens. There are manholes all over the city and the streets drain into them as well as all the other drains in parks ect, and the city refuses to fix the problem so about 1-3 times a year there will be a sudden and heavy rain and the pumps they have will fail as usual and the sewers back up into people houses. Then the geniuses that work the system wait until everyones house has a ft of water in it before they open up some valves and let the water drain into lake michigan.

I am raging so hard right now. Is anyone a plumber and can tell me why the F*CK they dont just leave the gad damn valves to the lake open, or get new pumps that dont break every year. This is some bull shit they haved uped the taxes in the county to 10% along with a lot of other changes taking more money from us and they use it on stupid ass flowers in the middle of six lane streets wtf.

The epa doesn't allow untreated runoff into lakes/ponds. Try rinsing the mobo with distilled water to see if it helps. It can't make it any worse

prolly alot cheaper to let your house flood than the daily fines they get when they let raw sewage into the lake. DEP doesnt play around with this shit. trust me Im a professional

True the worst part is we have everything off the ground even the couch, and it still got wet lawl. I didnt want to put my pc down here but my parents turned my old room into a tv room lol. Guess we will have to jack everything up a few more inches.
