Post Memorial day please take a moment to consider
One of the things that I have always loved about this community is the respect and honor most of you have always shown your soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines.

Today is a day of remembrance for a lot of us. The price of freedom is not cheap. I wanted to bring up one aspect of remembrance for memorial day. Please take the time to think on the families who have lost their service member. The cost for those families is immense and the toll is great.

So, please have a beer, grill a steak, hug your wife and kids enjoy your day off. It's what every single service member who has ever died for this country would love to be doing right now. I only hope; you might give one second of pause to raise your beverage.

Anyway, as I was doing my second of pause this morning, I came across some of these poignant pictures of some of my fallen comrades. I hope they touch your hearts as they have mine.

Pictures like these are a poignant reminder of why we should only ask the brave people in our military to make the ultimate sacrifice if and when there is absolutely no alternative.

God bless our military and damn the filthy politicians who have written the checks these people are paying for with their blood.

btw, the storyline to this series of pictures is the young pregnant wife of a Marine killed in Afghanistan. As you can see, she wanted to spend the last night before his burial by his side. So, the Marines guarding the coffin made her a pallet. The last pic is of her saying goodbye and she is going to put some memento's in his coffin. BTW, she had the baby boy 3 moths later and named the child after his fallen father.

It was a really touching story. I just wanted to share it I suppose. What can I say Memorial Day makes an old soldier Sappy.

Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?

They always send the poor...

People in congress need to learn the cost of the soldier's lives fighting on the other side of the ocean, not just the literal cost of the war itself. How would they feel if their son/daughter went over there to fight and got killed?

F*CK off with the political bullshit, at least for today. Today is for the soldiers who through their sense of duty put themselves in harm's way-- independent of shitty politics.

♥ our soldiers. Keep your heads down, shoot the bad guys, and come back safe so you can grill some steaks with those of us who enjoy the luxuries that the US has to offer.

Semper Fi, Thanks to all the Marines, Soldiers, Airman, and Seamen that make the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Also thanks to all the people that currently serve in the armed forces. Im proud to be a Marine and proud to serve my country. And if that day shall come, i will give my life so others can enjoy theirs. There is a sign outside the Air staition here that makes me smile everytime I read it.

"Pardon our noice, that's the sound of freedom"

OOHRAH!!
