Here is what has happened to me. im sure you have read the post about it on the forums. I have recently been caught by acid rain using skins of which are deemed as cheats. When i think about it, yes they do add an unfair advantage to css, therefore they are cheat skins. The skins i have been using change the colour of all weapons and players; so to distinguish between different things. so for example: you're hiding behind a box and im scouting, ill see you before i would have done without these skins, therefore giving me an unfair advantage. As you know, i vary when it comes to scores, some days ill do really bad and others ill do really good. these skins definitely help me when it comes to getting the top scores. also you've probably heard me go on about how my scout has a laser dot sight, well, these are also deemed as unfair and should not be used. actually, now, i am surprised that nobody took me up on that. I have been using these skins for a while now and i believe that you should treat any skins as if it were a hack. only install it if it doesn't give you an advantage, skins should only be used to change the look of a weapon or player, not to help you get a better score. so think to yourself next time, why do i want this skin? to become better? if so, then don't get it. I have also been very public about my use of fpsbanana, which no, isn't a cheat website but there are mods there which could be classed a cheats

Now you have heard the opinion of n00b on cheating, its time to explain how i think this has affected the n00bfest community. I believe, and this is just my opinion, that this has been a good thing for n00b. It has been an eye-opener for me and surely will be to a lot of others of the rules regarding skins. Yes, it hasn't been good in the sense that using cheat skins is but im sure a lot of people didn't have clue about the rules of skins. And im sure a lot of you didn't know that scripts are illegal on n00b server also, this has the same reason as the skins, they give you an advantage. basically anything except your skill that gives you an added advantage is a cheat. In the whole cheating has ruined n00bfest, all players that use hacks/cheats have the possibility to stop or carry on (which will get you banned-give it time) but once you are found out that is it. to be honest i am very lucky that i was given another chance. the worst thing aside from getting caught guys is getting banned from n00bfest. if you do cheat i would think hard about a life without the n00b servers (players), after all as i have said many times and so have others, css is nothing without its fantastic players' personalities.

This hasn't only affected the community as a whole, it has affected me and also probably other individuals who before now (except the case of montreal) wouldn't have thought of themselves having the possibility of getting banned from n00b. this has definitely made me appreciate my place in n00b. even the little problems you cause could make you a target for reviewing, now that has hardly anything to do with this subject but it has really made me think about how annoying i can be sometimes (me especially) and to know when to keep my mouth shut. so as i have already said; the best thing to do now is to un-install ALL skins and if you have them, hacks and only install skins which don't put you in the same position as i am now. As soon as i have finished writing this thread i will be un-installing all my skins and re-installing the ones that i have checked are fair and square.

I would like to apologise to all n00b members for the use of cheats, i should have never, ever used cheat skins. and also i would like to tell all n00b members to check before installing skins which could be deemed to be cheats. I am sure if ANYONE is caught using hacks/cheats from this point on their punishment will be a lot more severe. I really hope that all you guys can forgive me for what i did so we can all move forward. I did do something wrong, and i really hope that you guys don't overlook what has happened here, remove all hacks/cheats now and start a fresh. To all members i am especially sorry as i have betrayed your trust and i hope i can regain it. Again, what server would i go to for the same laughs and fun as i get here. and i also hope that its the same for you. i don't know what i'd do, so please accept my apology so we can all play nice together.

To sum-up, 1. all skins should be fair and only change the way they look on screen, not how they work behind the scene. 2. not all skins are legal, some are illegal in different servers, this server skins which give players an advantage are illegal. 3. you should appreciate your place in n00bfest 4. all cheating affects the community dearly; it can lose players and gain players that the community really doesnt want (hackers) and 5. to un-install all hacks NOW before it is too late

Also i think that the admins who have been dealing with this case have done a brilliant job and also to thank all members for their understanding while the admins sorted me out.

I hope that this never happens again and that from now on we all play fair!

You got into n00bfest despite people thought you were annoying or whatever other reasons.

i agree with all your points, but what i was getting at was that i was using skins in which i wasnt clear of the rules on, after talking to acid about it it became clear that they give me an advantage. a clear example of this is my scout laser pointer skin. i am not condoneing andything i did, but i am really trying to defend it as much as possible because there is nothing i like more than playing with you guys

I see where mossy, tazz... are coming from but I don't think a perm ban is necessary. He is a retard and should have known that the skins were a bad idea. I was in the server when he was talking to acid the first time and he said "i don't hack the closest thing to hacks i have ever used is colored skins." Some type of reprimand is in order and needs to happen but perm ban seems a bit harsh. After some pointed out that the skins are unfair because not everyone has them he stopped using them.

I actually played quite alot with you as I am on pretty often with you during the day, and I liked you kid...I really did. Yes you could be obnoxious sometimes, but overall you were one of the folks I enjoyed having around on the server.

I am really sorry to say that all that has changed as a result of this. As far as I am concerned once trust has been broken it can never be given again. I am pretty much an old guy, and I have been around the block more than a few times. I have seen time and time again people with the best of intentions try to change but in the end revert back to bad behavior simply because when the stigma of being caught at something wears off its all about who they really are and why they did whatever it was in the first place.

I have written off good friends in RL over dishonesty and/or disloyal behavior, and I have learned the hard way that once someone shows you the ugly side of who they are there are no words strong enough to make that change in a fundamental way.

So basically here it is...I do not trust you now, I will never be able to trust you again, and as far as I am concerned if it was my decision you would be perma-banned from this community. I will say this about you or anyone else who ever gets caught hacking. Going and hacking in some random pub is bad enough, but the ability to be dishonest and betray people you associate with either online or in RL is not something that just goes away without therapy. You have a huge flaw in your character and the only reason we are finding out about it is because you got caught.

Now this is a way longer essay then I wanted to write...bottom line, I vote for zero tolerance. Permanent ban.

With all due respect, I disagree Greatness. He was told that what he was doing was hacking and he denied doing it, even going to the extent of creating a post trying to prove he did not cheat. It was only when he was threatened with a permanent ban that he played the ignorance card. He installed the skins because he knew they would be difficult to detect and it would give him an advantage.

His behavior after the fact is indicative of feeling guilty. Guilt implies knowledge of wrong doing. Now he is playing on the fact that he is a kid and trying to feign ignorance. I have two kids...one is Lifescan's age. Believe me I can tell he knew exactly what he was doing when he downloaded and installed the skins.

This makes sence as to why you ALWAYS camped with a scout.

So you knew it was giving you an unfair advantage. But you decided to keep going without changing it and denied that you were cheating in any way. Having an unfair advantage that no one else has is cheating, it doesn't take being caught and having people tell you to figure that out. Because that is all cheating is! Walls, speed hacks ghosting etc. When it comes down to it they are all just unfair advantages. I'n the 3 months or so i've been stricktly playing in this community i've seen many people staight up banned without coming to the community to see what they thought. I think for you it would be an "unfair advantage" for them to change the way they do things just for one person. Just like all the rest of them you just denied, denied, denied. Until the point were you couldn't hide it anymore and were inevidably caught like the rest of them. Hacks are hacks, cheating is cheating, it's all the same and deserves the same consequences. Banned!

TY for apologizing, I believe in 2nd chances but I also believe it takes time to regain trust especially when it has been violated so blatantly.

I don't know how long this has been going on so I have a few questions:

1) How many times did you deny hacking? posts & in conversations with n00bs
2) Did you tell other n00bs what skins you were using or were you hiding the fact you were using them?
3) Why would you use something that gives you an unfair advantage?
4) After you found out the skins you were using weren't allowed in n00b how much longer did you continue to use them?

I think every admin who has seen my posts knows that there are few things I hate more than cheaters. I've gone to great lengths to keep n00bfest free from cheaters and that includes hours of speccing suspicious players which includes 3 years of speccing 1 n00b just to finally ban his ass. Just to clarify, I F*CKIN' HATE CHEATERS!!!

Depending on your answers to the above questions I feel the following would be appropriate punishment

1) Removal of [n00b] tag
2) You must submit a video apology to the [n00b] community which will be posted on youtube (video must include face, steam id, and someone kicking you in the nutz)
3) Allowed to reapply in 6 months
4) Voted in whenever we feel like letting you back
5) Each n00b you ever meet in real life gets to punch you once in the gut, no exceptions
6) You ever cheat again in our servers we release the Fomenta on your ass and erase your digital existence

1) 3 years!?!?! God damn!
2) I've got long legs and big feet, i'm sure i'm more than qualified to bring the pain to his testicular region...So can I do it..please?
