So i got this 74 Hondamatic bike today and i was working on it. I told my brother to check the oil. it was low so he went to put more oil in... he poured F*CKING water in the oil compartment so i had to F*CKING drain it and put (real) oil in it. lol how stupid is he. (+ he is going to tech school to be a mechanic)

Actually i got it for free... any ideas on how to get it working i already cleaned out the carburetor its still not getting gas... it will get all the way to the carburetor but won't go any farther

Either way... so gas gets in the carb but it doesn't make it past? You 100% sure?

I've had two honda bikes... so here's a few easy things to try:

1) Make sure the petcock (fuel switch) is turned on. Small amounts of gas can leak past it, but if not enough gas is getting into the carbs, it won't fire.
2) Check the air system. Make sure that the airflow is unrestricted (clean air filter).
3) Replace all of your fuel lines. Carbs use the power of suction to pull gas -- the gas isn't pushed. If you have a crack in any of your fuel lines, then you've got a path of less resistance and you won't be getting any vacuum power to your carb, thus no gas suckage.
4) Check your pilot screws on the carb. On a honda, clockwise = richer, counter-clockwise = leaner. Tighten the pilot screw a half-turn clockwise and see if that helps. If not, back it off.
5) Check the floats in the carbs. I think the CM400 has plastic floats (like the 80s rebels and magnas), and they can sometimes develop small holes and fill with gas that turns to varnish. In that case, you'll need a carb rebuild kit.
