So my girlfriend dropped her iphone on the pavement yesterday and the screen cracked across the whole unit. The touch capabilities still work, its just pretty unsightly. My buddy recently had his cracked. He went to the Apple store and they gave him a brand new one right on the spot.

i've never heard of anyone using a 3rd party company to repair anything apple.

I wouldn't trust a random sight you've found. At least with Apple you know there's more of a guarantee they will fix it. A site like that could take your money and the ipod and you're shit out of luck. Like Reilly said, in some cases they will just replace it with a small or no charge.

Well you could check around to see if anyone is selling one for a cheaper price than what it would be to repair it. Maybe craigslist or something? You can find some pretty cheap shit on there.

I just spent the money on a bad ass case. I've droped my iphone a shit load of times kicked it to steped on it and when i take it out of the case it still looks like its brand new. This case is worth the 50 bucks

do you know how many people get scammed on craigslist? I wouldnt trust that site(Craigslist) at all. like the others have said go to apple. you may get lucky.

Either go through the manufacturer or don't at all really. Actually go the an Apple store and see what they have to offer for you, then make a decision of of there guarantee. You could have been lucky and found a legit one. But craigslist is for finding something cheap, meeting face to face, checking to make sure everything works properly(including the charger) then make the money transaction. Who knows, UbreakIfix could be really legit. But maybe you send it in and they drag it on until you realize you're not getting it back and you paid them to steal your shit. Or you get it back in the same shape as you sent it. Then you just gave a stranger money for no reason. Keep us posted.
