So here I am at work on what is normally my day off... but to make it worse I am stuck here because I can't leave without arming the alarm system and the kicker is, I DON'T KNOW THE CODE.... my supervisor does but he is nowhere to be found..

the story goes like this there was a mistake in the schedule I was booked to work this Friday(today) and that was the mistake my supervisor told me he would talk to the boss and get it fixed ( silly me I believed him) so I checked with him every day this week and made sure he was working this Friday the answer was always yes. So I get off work today at 7am (I work night 11pm- 7am) and I decide to stay up on my day off and get some shit done around the house. Well that's fine I get sleepy at around 2:30pm so I head to bed. At 4:20pm my boss calls me and yells at me for not being at work I tell him what my supervisor said and told him to talk to him. He told me that maybe I should talk to my supervisor because that's who told the boss to call me.
So I call my supervisor and ask him what the hell is going on and he tells me I should be at work cause I am scheduled in and when I told him I asked him all week about it he said I never said I would work it for you and besides you're scheduled so you have to work it.
so I call my boss back and tell him that the supervisor is a lying asshat and that I will be at work in 10 mins, I get into work and realise I don't know how to do the fir day shift cause the whole place locks down for the weekend, so here I am without the alarm codes to lock it down and I can't leave till I get it locked down but my boss doesn’t know the code and my supervisor is not answering his phone.... so here I am till god knows when........ Maybe I should have called my supervisor a lying F*CK when I was talking to him earlier



So in conclusion F*CK work

I've had that happen a few times where my supervisor said he'd so something but then didn't get it done and turned it back around on me.

Because of these situations one of my jobs required these things to be written down so there was a record -- but sometimes that's awkward if its not policy -- and in those cases I'd suggest having a reliable witness around next time you're relying on your supervisor's word.

It's cool that you went to work to help the place out even though you were told you shouldn't need to -- I hope your boss respects that.

Yeah, hopefully your boss acknowledges your extra effort and suffering.

I've never had that happen personally, it's small enough world where I work that no confusions or lazyness like that happens.

Haha this happened to me several times. Thankfully, I used to communicate with my boss through email most of the time, and had solid proof in my hand when things like this happened.

I think you should make an appointment with your boss and have a serious conversation about your supervisor.
