Hey guys,

So today as we were playing aztec, Durango mentioned the legalization of nature's most beautiful plant in Cali. We then proceeded to talking about the growing aspect of it, something of which I actually know quite a bit about. Some people asked me to post some pictures of the setup, so here it is. For legal purposes, when I refer to "my" grow op, I am actually referring to a fictitious closet in a fictitious house with fictitious marijuana. Anything I write in this thread is completely made up. Any pictures were found on http://www.images.google.ca.

Basically, this is my second year growing. My setup consists of a 1000 watt MH (Metal Halide) HID light/ballast combo, a wooden frame that is half the size of my closet and is completely wrapped in black and white tarp (it reflects 99% of the light). I decided to go with the Metal Halide bulb over the HPS (High Pressure Sodium) because I use my closet only during the vegetative stage of the growing and then transplant the plants when they reach about 2.5 feet in height.

I like to germinate the seeds in a paper towel inside my PC case. I then plant them in rockwool or similar cubes. When the roots start to show through the bottom of the cubes I place them into the first of 3 flower pots. I then repeat this step until they're planted in the biggest pots and then eventually I plant them outside once the ground unfreezes and let them chill outside for the summer. When the pistils are just right (usually around mid-September depending on the strain), I scoop 'em up and proceed to cut/dry/cure the bud. Last year I had 4 plants but this year I'm stepping things up and I'm going to have 12 by the time I'm ready to move them outside.

This is where I'm at now, about 4 weeks into the grow op (You might notice the white spots on a few of the leaves (This is due to a potassium deficiency caused by the soil, which is too acidic. The problem is fixed now):



Here are two last pictures of last year's plants, when I was moving them outside and when I cultivated them. They were about 3 feet tall when I planted them outside and by the end of the summer they measured between 5-6 feet.

Well last year I only sold an ounce so I didn't make much..but I saved a bunch of money since I was smoking my own shit. This year I'm going to step it up a bit and hopefully have a little more to sell to my friends and all that, but I don't want to get into dealing or anything. It's more of a hobby, like Gman and his brewing. I enjoy smoking and I enjoy much more when I know that the weed is 100% natural and that I grew it myself.

Nice. A friend of mine grows about the same as you and fortunately our town is full of stupid stoners so between us end up selling about a quarter. It's a good business if you're a stoner looking for free weed and lots of money.

I miss smoking. this makes me want to grow and smoke.

I started very similar growing in my window in chicago but pussied out when the leaves started looking like marijuana and neighbors were walking by my window. (bike path thru the back yard)

Now i'm in the middle of the goddamned forest, surrounded by crazed gun-toting neighbors who i could righfully call my guards. only prob here is only a few hours of natural sunlight.

I'm paying on average $4,000 a LB of Medical grade and $1,000 a LB of regular outdoor.

i tried growing several times last year, but one of my F*CKING dogs kept eating the plants. we tried putting them out of his reach, but to no avail. i got about to the pic 3 stage on my last attempt. that dog is now gone, along with my ex gf. time to try it again :)

what type of soil do you use? and do you add growing agents or types of plant food?

the voting shit for legalizing it in cali is in 8 months right? and the age limit is 21 right?
