I just bought it because I have very fond memories of AvP 1 and AvP 2. The multiplayer of AvP 2 was legendary. I downloaded the multiplayer deathmatch demo and it really kicks ass. AWESOME game play and the graphics are really something. So who else is gonna be playing this game with me?

BTW, its a directX 11 supported game, so I imagine it looks phenomenal on directX11 supported cards. Unfortunately, I'm running an HD4850, so I have to settle on directX 10.1 (which is still pretty good).

oh, single player was definitely the best. With the 1st two, I distinctly remember finding excuses to get off the game at scary moments because I was too jumpy to continue at that time. This newest game really pushes the envelope when it comes to lighting/strobing and the sounds. I'm already scared. :P Plus, the predator mission are supposed to be similar to Arkham Asylum's gameplay... which speaks for itself.

I played the demo of the multiplayer...I found it repulsive.

I really wish they would of demo'd the single player.

Repulsive? Uhh, were you a fan of the first 2 on PC? I loved the demo, even though I was getting my ass kicked. I believe that Rebellion did a great job on improving upon the original games while still retaining that classic AvP feel.

That's probably why I can't really indulge in it.

i thought it might suck becuase it got a 78 score. you all changed my mind . i will purchase this weekend and like the others have fond memories of AvP 1. also would like to see a new solder of fortune. that would be cool.

oh ho ho ho, Soldier of Fortune. I have fond memories of SoF. To be honest, besides the first Delta Force, SoF was my first online multiplayer FPS that I was hardcore about. SoF2 sucked in comparison to the first one. If they make a good remake thats just like the first gameplay-wise, I'll buy that shit.

i got AvP.as soon as i get a new power supply and a vid card (coming thursday) i'll be ready. my current gforce 8600gt didn't cut it.

Which one sucks? There are three PC titles.... the first being the Gold Edition one you mentioned which came out in 99', then came AvP2 in like 2001 (which I F*CKING loved), and then AvP3 just came out.
