I was wondering what you guys think about the situation and what rifles they should use. I love the comments on the news page showing off the very contrasting comments on this matter. I personally think that the police should get assault rifles should the shit hit the fan and a Glock 37 won't cut it in a situation where special teams are far out in minutes and minutes count.

There should be one AWP in the trunk for emergency sniping situations.

i think they use m16s in some of the cars i think ive even seen a m4 in a squad car or i have them mix up but thats a good idea

AR-15 without a doubt. It is the perfect caliber for police use.

I'm not sure how I feel about all standard police officers running around with rifles. At the same time I wouldn't risk my life for $50,000 salary when all they give you is a Glock. Proper training I suppose would ease my mind.

I would be def be in favor for having police cary rifles in their car. They should just add it to the training at the police academy's. For instance when that situation in LA when the 3 bank robbers opened up on police with AK47's probably would've been easier to deal with had the officers had more then shotguns and pistols.

Fixed there was two not three. But yeah around here most cops carry a bolt action rifle in the trunk. It's there own but they get to right off all the shit cause it's a tool for there job. Free ammo from the government for the win.

Problem with this proposal (I have no problem with it) by the NYSP is that New York has the most liberallist politicians around (try being a gun lover like me or a redneck, it's oppressing ) and most rural areas are South Carolina conservative (like Pulaski, St. Regis Falls, not Syracuse or NYC). Plus never have we seen NYSP carry anything other than their service pistol (few you see w/ shotguns). With all them scum in urban areas thinking they're above the law and shit police need to be able to have the firepower to counteract whatever needs to be stopped based on threat assessment (Few years back some scumbag was busted for running crack in Syracuse. Ran as fast as hell; police had to send the canine unit to take him down, guy was found with a Mac-10 after being busted {automatic weapons for civilian use are illegal})

Kansas is the same F*CKING way. You don't have to have a permit for anything unless it's full auto then you just have to register it. But no permits required I think. To go shooting just ask someone with some land if they don't mind it. Most will be nice and say yes. Hell we had some that came out with use.

Not true. The ATF requires a class-3 exception tax stamp in order for anyone to own a suppressed weapon or a full-auto weapon.

Either way, law enforcement should use 6.8mm SPC instead of .223.

In NH there is a shotgun in the middle of the drivers and the passengers seat
and a hunting rifle in the trunk.

I'm sure the police officers can wait for the big guns to come. I mean it's not like they running in there like in GTA.
