Post Dear Mr. Jeep
Pardon the rasicm, however,

You are from korea, and work on cars and I wish to know what you know about the tiburon (tuscani to you foreigners). I am thinking about supercharging it, and doing whole bunches of random shit to it, and I wish to know your experiences with the tiburon.

Love,
Hooker

I'm not Mr_Jeep, but I know the Tiburon is one of the most recalled vehicles in history.

Teehee, a Tib is a chick car! Here's my advice, save up all the money you were going to waste on super charging it and go buy a real car!

Tiburon is one of two cheaply priced 50/50 weight distributed sports/handling cars, the other being the Mazda MX-5.

If you can get over the "chick car" mantra (and evidentally the recall problems) then you'll probably quite like it as a driver goes. I loved my MX-5 and actually had chicks turned on by the fact that I drove it, and not because they thought I would be their "gay friend". I think.

I've never driven it however, because it looks like a car for a bitch. Get the MX-5 with detachable hard top. That car is sex, and relatively cheap.

Spend a few thou more and snag a BMW 3 or 1, somehow restrain yourself from buying a spoiler and "STREET RASAH VALVOLINE FUBU DC SHOES BUBBLY WINDOW TINT" stickers for it, and then have money hungry chicks chase you down because it looks like you have money. Plus it's a good car that's fun to drive, despite its reliability issues too. I've driven a 3. It was pretty good, though not as fun as the MX-5.

Ill save you the car bashing mantra shit, my buddy's got a tib 6 speed GL and it goes like a bat out of hell. Handling is amazing and its a fun ride. then again he does all the work himself. if you've got the standard tib supercharging it will definitely make it worth it, assuming you don't get a busted Recalled POS.

Sorry I was without a computer yesterday.
@Env, I had to sell it because I couldn't afford the 8k/year insurance.
@Gman, the 03-08 tiburons are much better than the xx-02.

I am planning on getting a NGM stage 2 sniper kit, and building my block a little bit. I should push around 300 WHP.

Mr. Jeep comes from korea doesn't he? And he works on cars so he might know a little bit about my car, and for all the haters there have been 9 and 10 second tiburons, it's a quick car.

Oohh. 9 and 10 seconds, eh? You can get a Cobra to 7-8 seconds pretty easily, and they're not even that great power-to-weight wise.

You don't buy a Tib if you're after straightline power. You buy a Tib if you want a "quick car" for motocross type stuff. It turns nice & tight with proper oversteer that you can control with your throttle.

If you want a "fast car" out of the box that you can mod for straightline pwnage you go with a mustang or something similar that starts out with a lot of pure engine power & displacement, though even those have been gradually moving more into the "quick" category too.

It sounds like you should start with something more reasonably cheap for purchase, parts & mods, like a civic/prelude or even a neon. Then rice/muscle it out to your heart's content.

It is depend on engine. If you are V6, say to super charge it.

But, if no, only 4 cyl, you are best to turbo charge it.

For my brother car, my older car, I build a 2.0L Elantra with turbo charger, and it same engine as Tiburon Mk1.

Image

But for newer car, I build Kia "Spectra" in US, but also 2.0L and turbo charge it.

But, like I say, it depending on engine.

If 4 Cyl, only turbo charge. Super charge very inefficient. Turbo can a make more power, but, cost more.

What is specifications of this is car?

Too true. Cobra is over rate, and very high expense.

You make a small car is faster, and less expense.

But, it does is not feel same, or sound same.

Then still, I am like small car. Handling up, less expense, no parking errors, and better more youthful.

Thinking now, I am put new mufflers on Mazda6 this New Year, and air intake, and but no turbo charger. Yet.
