So i told my parents i would get them a laptop for x-mas any ideas on what to get? They just want it for I Tunes and paying bills over the web.

A few of my mates on my floor who are mechanics and use them mainly for just internet purposes and office programs like them and they seem to work pretty good and fast..dem little buggers.

Yeah, asus netbooks are probably your best bet if they're not going to do anything relating to a game.

I've got an Acer Aspire netbook and it rules really hard. Paid $250 for it. 1.6ghz Atom CPU, 1GB RAM, 160g HDD, webcam/mic 6-cell (6-7 hour) battery. It's F*CKING amazing.

Asus, HP, or Dell netbook. Shouldnt have to spend more than $300 for a perfekly good one.

Oh, and I have personal experience with the Dell mini 10. The thing's built extremely well and took Win7 with very few probs.

i'd say check newegg first, it has much better sorting options, and much better reviews, once some choices have been found, than i goto tigerdirect to check for better prices, and sometimes they have video reviews too.

I installed win7 on a netbook without a drive. It's a bit too technical if you're getting it for a regular user, so you would want an external drive.

1) Get a disk image of the install disk
2) Install a disc image mount tool such as daemontools
3) mount the image
4) profit

I have no idea how it worked, but I was able to install win7 on a winxp dell mini 10 using this method.

the main thing the computer will be doing being used for i tunes thats it so i need a cd rom drive
