 I am now the owner of the most awesome website everHere's some backstory...
I was born in Austin, TX and have in/near it my whole life. I love Austin; it's an amazing city. There's this slogan that's used around here to promote supporting independent businesses in Austin: "Keep Austin Weird" If you search for"Keep Austin Weird," you'll find all sorts of crazy things: http://images.google.com/images?rlz=1C1 ... =en&tab=wi -- yes, that is a naked cross-dressing hobo. He's a bit of a local legend. But I completely agree with you on Austin. If I could have found a job there I'd have moved there instead of Portland. I have friends there and go every chance I get. SALT LICK BBQ (though it's a lil outside of Austin proper) is heaven. Portland is like Austin, except for shittier weather and the majority of the girls don't take care of themselves. Re: I am now the owner of the most awesome website ever They just put a Salt Lick BBQ next to the Dell Diamond (baseball diamond) in Round Rock; it's about 10 minutes away from my house. We've got 3 amazing breweries in the city limits, and we're home to the top-rated hefeweizen in the world. Beer and BBQ... pretty much sums up what TX is all about. Austin just does it way better than Dallas/Houston/San Antonio.
