1) Have you even fired a shotgun? 2) I think you mean F-350, and 4WD, not AWD (there's a difference). 3) Doesn't really matter anyway; you'd probably wreck it. 4) A suburban environment is probably the last place you want to be in such an event. 5) Pretty sure you'd die. 6) Most useless thread ever.

Re: Would you survive a Zombie Apocolypse?
Time to become philosophical here: Is it me or is it this day and age our obsession with zombies have increased tenfold? Could it be the effect of the nerd culture revolution that occurred in 2006? BTW, I certainly would survive a zombie invasion but I gotta say loud dangerous weapons such as guns probably won't make a great overall zombie weapon because of the sound and aftereffects. Bow and arrows might help.

Re: Would you survive a Zombie Apocolypse?
My zombie preparation kit includes:
M4 assasult rifle with bayonet mounted flashlight, red dot handle-mounted sight, and 500 rounds of all brass ammo (more reliable than the Russian steel shit)
9mm Beretta FS in stainles steel with laser sight built into the grips and 500 rounds of all brass ammo.
12 ga. Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag pump shotty, mossy oak HD camo. Only about 50 rounds of magnum ammo. It's for food, not defense.
Marlin 30-30 lever action in mossy oak HD camo. 3-12x adjustable camo scope, and about 50 rounds of high performance hunting ammo.
8mm world war 2 Turkish Mauser with 4 rounds of 60 year old surplus ammo. A serious last resort.
.410 magnum (this F*CKER holds 3.5" .410 magnum shells) single shot lever action shotty. Need some ammo for this one because it's a great little magnum hunting gun. Other than that, it'll make a great melee weapon.
Got a tactical vest at the gun show a couple months ago. It holds 4 clips for the M4 (30 rounds each); 6 clips for the 9mm (15 rounds each); handy-dandy knife; holster for the 9mm; and some other accessories I have yet to add.
I live up against a nature preserve, so chances of avoiding the main urban/suburban areas are good. Just need a Jeep to get us moving quickly and avoid the clogged highways.
Chance of survival = 100%. Chance of taking the opportunity to pop a cap in some people that deserve it = 100%.
Old people drivers, gang members, and Wal*Mart cashiers will have a high casualty rate in my neighborhood.... don't ask me why. ;-)

Re: Would you survive a Zombie Apocolypse?
Yeah, my zombie survival kit is almost identical to Corpses... with a few minor differences:
Springfield P9 instead of Beretta M9. Functionally, they're identical -- they're both 9mm handguns.
My shotgun is a sawed-off 20ga with a pistol grip, though. Holds 6+1 rounds. Pretty gangster right there.
Oh, and don't forget the Springfield 1903-A3 for super-long-distance pwnage. Also hunting for food.

Re: Would you survive a Zombie Apocolypse?
Oh I'd survive thanks to the Zombie Survival Guide.
Its good to use weapons with common ammo. Its wise to get very accurate weapons such as hunting rifles or and military rifles like the M1 Carbine so that you don't get the urge to spray and pray. Get many handguns for CQB as well as at least 2 machetes per party member. LOTS of food and water is necessary. STUDY WILDERNESS SURVIVAL MANUALS. Its hard enough fighting the elements; you don't want to fight both mother nature and zombies. Go to a sparsely populated area far from the coasts and the cities (far from people). Try to get to a place thats defenable, tillable, and as out of the way and hidden as possible. Get in shape, you fat F*CKERS. Constantly improve your defenses, and after a year, relocate just in case. Staying on the move is better than waiting for a zombie to see you and draw the lot of them in on you. Keep watches 24/7 in shifts and assign everyone in the party a duty. Try to go as many places as you can on foot so as to not attract attention. BE DISCIPLINED AND ONLY TRAVEL WITH THE DISCIPLINED; consider yourselves members of the armed forces now. Never travel alone unless you absolutely have to. LISTEN FOR EVERYTHING; BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS! Try to stay hidden and quiet. SLEEP! Stay mobile. Keep your hair short. Stay sane: read a book, play games, F*CK your girl if she isnt already eaten: you'll need to repopulate the country and planet, SO GET TO SLAMMIN'.

Re: Would you survive a Zombie Apocolypse?
Its funny that I just got home and seen this post. I went to borders this morning were I bought the Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z and I am currently watching the Dawn of the Dead remake because I had an apparent zombie boner today.
My zombie kit includes---------
Weapons - Russian AK-47 Siaga 7.62X39 X 1,000 rounds (for wife) S&W 1911 .45 ACP X 500+ rounds (for me) Benelli Super Nova 12 gauge X 2,000+ rounds of random slugs & buckshot (for me) Sig Sauer Misquito .22 X 5,000+ round (for wife) Axe (for me) Machette (for wife) The key for weapons I think is high capacity magazines with lots of ammo
Disclaimer (for wife could easily be replaced with new mistress if she becomes infected)
My BOB (bug out bag) Yes I have one. Its a requirement for living in Michigan. Its a basic 3-4 day survival kit.
Transportation - My 98 Sierra 3 ATV's (if we can make it to my parent's farm)
Area of survival - My parent's farm House, 8 barns and 6 drying silos should serve as a safe enough place to reside 3,500 acres of land with 400 being wooded A few hundred gallons of diesel fuel Tractors and farm trucks (both diesel)
Other notes I live just on the edge of the city so making it back to the farm shouldn't be to hard. Its about a 2 hour drive north to get there. Once on the farm I would have to consider long term food storage so I would most likely wait it out a few days and then plan to hit the local walmarts with force to loot for food and weapons. I would hope that my hunting skills would keep us fed for some time but who is to say that our local deer population has been infected. Once my resources dry up I would most likely check out the city to see if its safe there, if not I would head up to the upper peninsula to live out life.
I'm in no shape to continuously run from zombies so if I were to become infected it would be only because I couldn't outrun the F*CKERS. I would have to rely on a vehicle or supreme marksmanship.
I have been a fan of zombie stuff for years. My first horror movie was George A. Ramero's Night of the Living Dead and I think I was about 7, possibly younger. I have seen just about every zombie movie every made and then some, and I own most. I know that the 2 books I bought today have been out for some time but keep in mind that generally only read books once a year, and that is when I am out deer hunting.

Re: Would you survive a Zombie Apocolypse?
Oh yeah, I forgot about the machete, riding lawn mower (to get really creative on the legless ones) and the electrical generator with 30 gallons of fuel on hand.

Re: Would you survive a Zombie Apocolypse?
Get used to me saying this description of myself: I'm a cheap bastard.
I say that because these are what I'll use to survive a zombie apocalypse:
-Huntsman Bow Set with fine tipped arrows -Crossbow for long range sniping -Super Soaker filled with flammable liquids and a lighter jury-rigged to the end -Metal Baseball Bat -Katana (primary defense weapon) -Disinfectant cleaning liquids (in case of zombie blood) -Bowie knife (for whittling out sticks to use for arrows) -Night Vision goggles (courtesy of hacked digital cameras) -Dodge Ram 250 Caravan (similar to the icon for n00bfest on their Steam page) -Pull firecrackers, extra yarn/string, and some explosive or flammable filler (zombie tripwire trap)
Notes: -I only use firearms for a last resort, I just feel heavy or loud guns will attract a lot of attention zombies and humans alike. IfI were to prefer firearms, something with rapid/automatic fire and silenced (suppressed UMP-45, MP-5, anything that can use easy access ammo(.45, 9mm)). -I'd have to do some modifications to my Ram 250 to make it Zombie ready -I prefer to be silent in these situations -Again I'm a cheap bastard
