Ahh, Glad to be back on posting for n00bfest. Computer problems. Anyways, just a question I wanted to post to other n00bs. What do you really think Infinity Ward is planning in regards to Modern Warfare 2? I ask this in light of all the shit IW is pulling leading up to MW2's release. What I mean is (not limited to):

-No dedicated servers
-Prologue Level lets you play as a terrorist (possibly undercover agent) massacring civilians at an airport (at will)
-Fight Against Grenade Spam (some fags taking offense to this)
-Randomly awesome features thrown in at the very end of MW2 trailers: sticky grenade, throwing knives, etc. (forseable for quite a while now)

So I encourage everyone to open up, let me know what you think IW is planning with this new Sacha Baron Cohen-esque campaign. Are they trying to best Hideo Kojima in terms of random F*CKING around with people? Is it the obvious that they want REALLY HUGE sales?

I think Infinity Ward is planning to make money hand over fist with MW2.

Apparently money is FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR more important to IW than fan base. I don't blame them for being greedy F*CKERS, but I think with enough people pirating the game or not buying it, a tiny divot will be put on their elitist, money-grubbing golf course. Seriously: F*CK Infinity Ward and I hope the daughters of the people who came up with the PC Multiplayer on MW2 get raped by a family member and turn out to be homosexuals.

Well said. Keep in mind however that I only asked the question of IF they were thinking about ginourmous profit margins. Who knows maybe IW thinks the game industry is slumping down and cranking out repetitive products with very little attention grabbing qualities (Wolfenstein) and the industry could go Supernova at any time (Tell me if I sound stoned after saying that). Maybe IW wanted the game industry to wake up and think outside of the box creative-wise and story-wise and become defiant in the whole industry. Let one play as a terrorist as a wake up call to the player as to how serious terrorism can be for those who don't watch 24. Maybe show the gaming industry how misogynistic and homophobic we've become calling grenade-spammers fags. It could be to send a message rather than make shitloads of money. And if IW wants to play that card, fine with them. We may bitch about how graphic Manhunt was, but we don't tell R* how they should go about hacking up people in a game (personally that's what I believe blogs and Facebook are for).

Because that way they can charge for DLC and not worry about anybody releasing custom maps/mods. If you want to extend the life of the game, you have to buy their DLC.

Also, Gman pretty much hit the nail on the head, but I'd like to take it one step further. I see a lot of comments (not necessarily all on here, but just around the internet) from people saying that they'll choose to pirate it instead. IMO if you're really dissatisfied with the announcement of matchmaking, then you shouldn't even pirate it. Don't buy it, don't pirate it, just forget about it. All you're doing by pirating it is sending the message "We like your product but you can't seem to protect it in a way to force us to buy it" to Activision. Then we'll get even more bullshit copy protection and crippled features out of MW3 so that Activision/IW can make a few extra bucks. If you really want to send the right message to Activision, just don't bother with it. Forget it and go play something else. It's not like there isn't hundreds of FPSes for PC. If they see that no one would even play it for free, then maybe they'll start listening to their fanbase again.

This is very disappointing news. It seems every developer releasing a game I've been looking forward to has messed it up enough for me not to even consider buying it.

Well if that were the case they would put dedicated servers in so PC users will buy it too, but as far as I know nobody on PC is getting it to PLAY it, although I do know a few PC players getting it to destroy it on camera.
