 Re: Paranormal Activity Movie
I reallllly want to see this movie, too. The reviews I've read say that it's a good movie with lots of scary parts. Some went as far as saying that they had to sleep with the lights on and/or couldn't sleep in their own bedroom.
Unfortunately, this movie isn't playing in my city. If I wanted to see it, I'd have to travel like 2 hours to get to the city where it is playing - and the dates/times aren't consistent on a daily basis, either. I may have to wait to rent it :(
if anyone else sees it, let us know how it is :D

 Re: Paranormal Activity Movie
ok, i saw this posted on a digital marquee for some place off the highway here in Denver (i'm here this week for work) and had no idea what it was. now that i've seen the trailer, i am so excited. this COULD be the first movie to scare me in over 10 years. i stopped watching "scary" movies, because none of them are scary. they just have blood and guts, which is gross, but not scary. one slight exception is the movie "the strangers" only because it was based on a true story and those people were pretty creepy. but it was only creepy, not scary to me. ghosts/demonic possesions are about the only thing that has ever really scared me (exorcist 1, cause i saw it when i was pretty little). what's the likelihood of me being murdered by a crazy person? slim-to-none while i got my guns nearby. what's the likelihood of me being fucked with by a ghost? i have no idea because i can't F*CKING see them! hahaha now i'm just rambling....

Go see those 3, tell me what you think, and if yoou liked them i can hook you up with some more.

 Re: Paranormal Activity Movie
i saw jacobs ladder when i was like 12 or 13, i didn't think it was scary, but probably because i didn't understand what the F*CK was going on.
the decent i didn't see, but i'm not much for "creature" scary movies. they are too unrealistic to me. but since you reccommended it, i will try to check it out.
rec, never heard of it. will see what it's about.
thanks gin :)

 Re: Paranormal Activity Movie
I've seen it, save your money. There's 3 alternate endings and the theatrical ending will ruin this movie for anyone with good sense. Wait for the DVD.
Besides that gripe, It was an OK movie, but you will most likely get bored with it easily.
GINZU if you liked jacobs ladder, go watch SESSION 9 and STAY, two great films, especially if you liked ladder.
EDIT: it could have been I was trashed when I saw it.

 Re: Paranormal Activity Movie
The Decent was not scary. at all. My friend almost deuced in his trousers when we watched A Haunting In Connecticut, which i liked, but it wasn't scary, for me at least.
I respond more to/like psychological thrillers more than gore horror, like Hostel. Watching Hostel, i was thinking "that would F*CKIN SUCK if that were me, but it's not, nor will i ever find myself in that situation, so, meh". I remember seeing What Lies Beneath in theaters when it came out, so i was about 13 or 14, and that movie startled me the most. So , if this Paranormal Activity movie can top that, i'm excited.

 Re: Paranormal Activity Movie
The descent, its a whole new different story, i know its not FULLY scary, i grant you that, but i got tangled by it, i mean i could feel the narrow caves passages and the entire "claustrophobic" feeling given by this film.
I´ll have to say that the "horror" gender its pretty hard to digest, i mean its mostly maked for the fans of the genre itself, because in order to see and enjoy a horror movie you should be absolutely drawned by it, forgetting that its a movie and let youself go without waiting for the scary parts to pop out and just preparing yourself to embrace them, instead of letting them surprise you.
When i saw the movie 28 days later, i got tangled by it too, yeah its probably not that scary, but imagine yourself in that picture, imagine yourself awake in the middle of london, without seeing anyone or anybody, imagine yourself in that position???.
Rec (the spanish version) im absolutely positively sure that it will get you thrills and chills, dont watch his english version though (quarantine), ive heard its bad.
Session 9 ive heard good things about it and stay i think its ok, ill download them, when i have the time.

Look up Dudley town...thats some fucked up shit. wish they wouldve gone through with the movie on that.

If anyone gets a chance and your in Long Island go to mount misery....yea. I agree with others in this thread (forgot who) that said scary movies jsut arent that scary anymore. I havent seen any good ones in a while. I remember when Ring came out and everyone said that was supposed to be incredible piss your pants scary....I laughed the entire movie. It was hilarious to me. though I will check the other movies out that were posted on here.

This movie is the biggest piece of shit ever put into a movie theatre. Don't pay to see it! The first hour and 20 minutes is SHIT! The last 7-10 minutes was a bit creepy but still sucked. Again, DO NOT PAY TO SEE THIS MOVIE!
