Post should i buy a stolen mac book?
So there's this guy I'm good friends with on my team. When I told him my computer broke he informed me that he could get me a macbook for 400. However, the macbook was stolen. I know his dad has one that was stolen as well and he says it works fine.

So I was just wondering if this is a good idea

No. Buying stolen anything is a bad idea, because if the cops trace it back to you then they're going to take it and possibly file criminal charges against you.

Why buy a sub-par piece of equipment anyway? Macs are garbage.

Also you never know if it has low jack on it. First time you connect to the internet, boom, traced and found.

i have to agree with coach in the sense that its risky even a little. i do my fair share of......underground....things.....but the number 1 rule is NO RISK.
also Gman points out that macs are garbage. i hate macs, and since i don't like macs you shouldn't either.

Sounds pretty sketchy to me man, plus what are you gonna do with a MAC? Play games? I think not.

Naw. Don't risk it. You don't wanna get visited by the cops with that shit.

EDIT: Or if you're caught, be a bitch and put it all on your friend.

Steaky-- not only should you not buy it, you should ask your friend to never bring up that subject again with you. What he does is his own business, legal or not-- but when you begin to have knowledge of it, you have the dilemma of whether or not to continue being quiet about such things. Additionally, if/when he gets caught and squeals like a pig to get a lesser sentence, he may very well squeal your name if you two talk about it at all.

I've been razor thin margins away from having my life ruined (or in being honest with myself, ruining my own life), so that's my advice based on experience.

I'm just saying a lot of games are not compatible/don't work very well on macs.

The way I see it, macs are great for projects like making movies, fixing photos, messing around with music, but are really lacking in the gaming area....but it's not like this is breaking news.
