Post New Computer Help
So recently my macbook decided to take a shit on me.

Im a freshman in college and I need a new laptop.

I dont have a huge preference when it comes to PC or Mac, but i like the idea of a computer which doesnt get viruses and is easy to use since im not too computer savy. However, I want to get back on Counter strike!

So Basically what I need help with is: What is the best laptop on the market for a reasonable amount of money? And should I get PC or Mac? If PC what kind?

Thanks a lot!

Asus's are solid and relitivly great priced laptops

I'd tell you from personal experence that a Dell XPS 1530 is a solid choice but at last they're not in production.

Definitely get a PC, I got my Toshiba Satellite notebook from best buy for only $450 (before protection plan, DO NOT GET THEIR OPTIMIZATION for $90 {have a tech friend do it for you}). Got CS:Source running at 50 fps (not great but playable), CS reg. works like butter on metal. But yeah thats just my 2 cents

I hear this all the time here and I somewhat agree though take into the kids situation that he is in college...

Depending on the school he may be required to have a laptop (I am in my school based on my major) as well it sometime is nice to have the portability, its nice to not have to have a bunch of F*CKING notebooks and shit all around if he travels home and such he'll need it.
