Post Citi Cards wants me to bend over, WTF...
Got a letter on both Citi Card accounts I have that they are jacking the rates to 29.99% starting
November 30, 2009. What kinda shit is that. There excuse is so they can continue granting credit to costumers or some shit like that. Of course we have the option of closing account and
remaining with the previous apr rate.

In case your wondering, No I have not defaulted by paying late or going over the limit.

Would like some info on what I can possibly do.

What sux is the new CC Bill of Rights don's say shit about them not being able to jack rates,
just that they have to notify you 45 days before they F*CK you in the a-hole.

Any good suggestions would be greatly appreciated. So hopefully the smart mofo's like Gman, Kitten, High, Geno, the asshole Joe and the rest of you nubs can give me some good advice.

Thanks in advance you fartheads.

Don't run a balance and you won't have to pay interest.

Problem solved.

Go to a bank or credit union and tell them you want to take out a loan to pay off your credit card(s). Your interest rate will suck, but it'll be lower than 23%.

Yea I think it's complete bullshit what their doing. Basically their trying to maintain their profits by changing things around before the new rules go into affect. I believe you can call them and talk to them and possibly stop them from hiking up your rates.

Kinda curious, can the apply the new APR on a previous balance or does it only apply to new purchases?

I used to work for Discover Financial Services. Not only are they increasing APR but they are also cutting credit lines in half if not more. If you became one of these people you need to call and talk to a customer service rep and tell them you will be taking your business somewhere else and you want to close the card out. They HAVE the ability to lower your APR once you ask to close the line of credit. If they dont come back with an offer to keep you...listen to gman and head to a credit union. Im a F*CKING idiot and just read your reply to "holding a balance" If youre holding a balance on that Citi card i would call another bank or CU and apply for a new line of credit for a credit card. If you get approved you can do a Balance Transfer and get some F*CKING killer rates for 6 months. Some even offer 0.0% APR for the first six months. Then once those six months are up you can do another BT back to the Citi card and get another 6 months of low rates. I would hope that you wouldnt need to transfer back to the Citi card but if you still hold a balance you have the option to. I hope this is making sense. Im high right now so im not too sure. If you have any other questions i know the ins and outs of CC companys. PM me if you need more help.

Forgot...if you just want to pay the balance off and forget about credit cards(they help your credit score) you can call Citi and tell them the APR is too high. You would like the line of credit closed. Then they should give some kind of payment plan to pay back the balance. Once that card is closed it cannot be opened again unless you fill out a line of credit app.
