i saw this too. i am in denver this week for work, and was just up in larimer county (where dirtbag lives) on Tuesday. i find this interesting for multiple reasons. i wonder why the father has this balloon thing. i wonder if it really can carry a person. i wonder if the little guy bailed out of it cause he was scared out of his mind.

i hadn't thought about the possibility that the older brother might be lying, but that reminds me of the boy down the well from however many years ago when it was all a hoax.

we were takin bets at work on if this kid was going to fall out or not.. our bleeding heart liberal bitch office manager was not amused. we told her to stfu and grow a satchel.

so i just watched a portion of an interview with this family on CNN (why this is international news is beyond me). wolf blitzer asked the kid if he heard his parents calling for him while he was hiding, and he said yes but kept hiding. the parents were surprised, and i could tell the dad was trying not to get pissed hahaha. then the dad said that when the boy gets in trouble or is told no he cowers or hides; makes me wonder if the dad beats him.

i still can't believe this is such a big F*CKING deal. it would be one thing if the boy was harmed or killed from this thing, but i still don't think it should be national news. why don't the media cover things that affect multiple peoples lives, like how the gov't is diverting funding for troops that would be used for fuel, ammo and training (yes, also affecting troops in iraq and afghanistan), so they could build a new museum and other pointless shit. but lets pay attention to a balloon and a boy while our troops are dying for no good reason.

i didn't either, the worst thing i did when i was six was see some movie about running away from home, so i "payed" run away from home. i asked mom if i could run away and she said wear shorts its hot outside. then she freaked out and called the police when i wasnt in the backyard anymore. the police found me across the street having what i called an "adventure". all in all it was pretty fun.

yeah i heard the family has been on wife swap twice so i have a feeling this is some weird F*CKING way of getting back into the spotlight.

I thought the same thing because I heard that people who appear on reality shows are seeking the spotlight and apparently studies have shown that these people will do anything to get back in the spotlight.

I feel sorry for the children because their parents made them lie and it sounds like they really fucked them up.
