 Stars
Looking for someone who knows some good forums specifically for Texans regarding telescope setups/discussions on stars, planets, locations of celestial north, etc.

 Re: Stars
the first one, i've already been to and they have no forums, the second is an international site, and the third not texas??? the reason it has to be local is because of the way everything in the sky is lined up. someone in florida wont see the same thing as in texas, and especially if youre in the southern hemisphere.

 Re: Stars
I don't think he was trying to help you as much as he was trying to point out the potential of www.google.com

 Re: Stars
Don't you think I would have already used google before I came on and asked? I'm not an idiot, jesuh-kry. Fact is that there isn't one that exist, and the closest thing to it would be astronomyforum.net. I'll probably just email them and ask them about adding state specific forums.

Uh, I like telescopes...In fact, I use http://www.skyviewcafe.com/skyview.php? ... heck=false quite frequently to see what's up and out.

Nice, I added that to my favorites. Looks like an excellent resource to guiding myself around the ecliptic!

 Re: Stars
Hehe...Astronomy 120 was one of the most difficult but fun classes I've ever taken...4 hour exams and ridiculously difficult labs, but lots of great stuff to learn. The professor would hand out Astronomy magazines every single day (now I have a nice collection). Watching an extreme closeup of the waxing crescent moon on the college's 16-Inch Schmidt-Cassegrain was breathtaking :) I think I'll buy a cheap telescope when I get the time.

It won't appear until the aliens want us to see it and by then it'll be too late because the electromagnetic field of their planet will already start causing devastating effects on nature such as massive tsunamis, hurricanes, and possibly techtonic shifts.

 Re: Stars
check local collages. there are probably quite a few .edu sites that google wont pull up that are right down your alley, just call and ask.

 Re: Stars
i forgot to add /sarcasm to that.... i love how you faggots always manage to make everything that might stay on topic... off topic. and that was the point. if you cant add something to the thread thats decent, then don't reply.
