Opinions? My cousin just lent me the album and I'm burning it as we speak. I've only heard one song from it when I saw the video which was All Nightmare Long. What do you guys think of the album? If you haven't bothered with it because of say St. Anger, at least look into Death Magnetic.

Lmao well there's 1 for it. I'm not sure who it was (only person popping into my head is Gman) but someone in n00b said they bought St. Anger, listened to a couple of songs, then proceeded to throwing the disk out of his window like a Frisbee. I just got to Unforgiven III and I flipped when I saw that they actually made a third one. I F*CKING love I and II.

Metallica is at least 100 years old now. They need to cut it out.

...And Justice for all wasn't too bad.

And as for Death Magnetic, I dunno. I only listened to a few songs off of it and none of them grew on me.

and justice for all was the shit... and death magnetic is about as good as they are gonna get now. I enjoyed the album. unforgiven 3 was a little mushy but its been getting mushier over the years anyway... i feel the solo from 1 made it better, and the cool guitar with the pulley on 2 was what made the second one, but 3 didnt really have anything besides a piano intro which i felt was a little too softcore for the rest of the album. if this was a comeback id call it a damn good shot, but to say it was anything like the older albums, i cant really say too much to agree. i think this is by far their best attempt given and made yet since s&m which sucks hairy C*CK and balls. my first metallica album was the justice album on a cassete tape and i played one, blackened, and justice for all, dyers eve, and harvester of sorrow like there was no tomorrow. there was just something about that wind on the harvester track that made me feel evil and shit inside.

All Have Said Their Prayers
Invade Their Nightmares
See into My Eyes
You'll Find Where Murder Lies

Infanticide

i miss old justice... :((((((( never will i have been or be the same again since that album. that album changed my life.

also am i like the ONLY person who LOVED load/reload? and know like every word to every song to each album?

A lot of people hate Metallica because it's a trendy thing to do. The old "MAN, LOAD/RELOAD/ST ANGER SUCK" thing is a really cookie-cutter response.

If you don't like it, then at least say why. Otherwise you're just as trendy as the guy who LOVES Metallica, and his favorite song is Enter Sandman because that's the one he hears on the radio from time to time.

Metallica, IMO, is a great band. They're not my favorite, but they're still pretty good. The fact that they've evolved from a really rough-around-the-edges metal band to something slightly more progressive and still maintained to (somewhat) keep their metal roots makes me respect them.

Yes, Lars is a d-bag. Kirk is an idiot. James is an ex-boozer turned pussified family-man, and their new dude (whatever the hell his name is) looks like John Redcorn after a seven year twinkie-binge. So what? I'm not going to hang out with them; I'm just going to listen to their music.

Gman, with all due respect dude, you know i love you, but why the F*CK should i waste my time listening to this faggots anymore, i try´ed to listen to broken beat and scarred, and all it took for me it was just one song, then i started digging cyanide but when i saw "THE UNFORGIVEN III" dude come the F*CK OOOOOOON, we already know that the sequels in most of the cases are stupid bullshit and i was not mistaken at all, probably the most decent song is "all nightmare long", and thats about it, i just started hearing the old ones again, sanitarium, battery, shortest straw, dyers eve, fight fire with fire, ride the lightning, leper messiah, you listen to that and it feels so legit.

I honestly dont want to jack this thread but for old bands that just came with a new album, sort of, i loved "chinese democracy" even more that this piece of garbage, because althought i felt it way over produced, i was like wait a F*CKING minute what do you spect axel spend 15 years over doing this album so i just suddenly forgot about that feeling and even enjoyed the album a lot more, plus he spend lots of money producing that album, he just launched for pure personal meaning, and im thankfull for that.

tl;dr i couldnt go through all the album, it was like watching indiana jones and the kingdom of crystal skull, i just watched it trough the first 20 minutes, when i reached the fridge part i just leaved the theatre and ill have to tell you that 10 years or so had passed since i saw a bad movie, and ive been through a lot.

the real reason it took him 15 years to make the album was because he was actually waiting for china to become a democracy.

i miss load/reload/garage inc, and F*CKING justice.

unforgiven 3 wasnt that bad dude, consider the direction of the first, the transition of the second, and then finally the end... or what could be the end, the third. they gradually get easier and more mellow.

i liked metallica because of their unique riffs incorporated into the music. the lyrics were stellar, and the old james had an awesome voice. i loved kirks old dives and taps, and i miss the influence they had on so many people. their music influenced me to play, and opened a new doorway to a new genre and to learn from past bands that influenced particular band's sound and message. metallica loved blue oyster cult, for instance. alot of kirks riffs were cult related, hendrix as well. this got me learning music theory, and no other band had ever achieved a more beautiful metally' sound to me than metallica had.
