Hey everybody,

Man what a day yesterday. I was in business meetings and Bullet Catcher was blowing up my cell phone, man. Good thing he did or I wouldn't have known anything was going on.

The official word from Gameservers.com is that a system error on their end caused the deletion of our server files. I haven't checked on their forums to see if it was widespread or not and personally.... I don't really care if it was or not.

Gameservers does NOT maintain any backup files for their content so when it got wiped, all they could do was re-install a fresh new generic, white label CSS server. I was pretty pissed about it because I'm in Florida working right now and anything I have that resembles a backup is in Louisiana.

They gave n00bfest a week's credit to cover the troubles of recovering the files and modifying the server to make it right again.

One thing I think I'll do for the sake of the future is create a folder at n00bfest.com for the server files and upload them in a zip file. That way I can give several people access and if something like this happens they can restore it much easier.

I've gone through the forums and removed most of the other posts about the server issues from yesterday because I didn't want rumors to spread that the server was hacked or that any danger existed in connecting to the server.

It was a simple (pain in the ass) mistake by the server company, and I've asked Bullet Catcher to try and get things back to normal as best he can while I'm out of town. I'm also setting a few more people up with access to the control panel in Gameserver.com so it'll be easier to get fast action next time. Obviously, we don't have enough backup people in place right now.

Thanks for your patience, and please welcome back the n00bfest.com main server by spending at least 14 hours in it today, pwning and swearing at people.

it's funny cause you never really notice how much mani admin helps a server until you play on one without it. it was very different and didn't feel like n00bfest to me, so i only played for like 10 min :(

I'm not going to lie, the server runs a lot smoother now.

Missing MOTD/Splash Screen Info
Missing laser trace rounds on death bullet.
No damage given/taken stats upon death
No instant explosion death for shooting team mate upon spawning

the tk punish menu is a no show, it just hollers "TEAMKILLER!" at you. Havn't seen anyone burned in anger in 24 hrs.

I'd also like to say that I was impressed with the [n00b]s that stuck with the server, even broken. As for the pub guys thats stayed around, thank you for not making it worse (as you easily could have done) Lotta down mofos 'roun' here.

I kinda like the autoslay feature for tking that was on lastnight. TK spawn bombs are F*CKING redic.

I'm just throwing this out there, why are we restricting weapons? I know it's how things were and we used to have awp whores in CZ, but I'm thinking it doesn't matter in Source.
