Duck season opened this morning and I was the only one to shoot a duck out of 3 guys. I got pissed and bought a new gun. Its an H&R Ultra Slug Hunter. Its a 10 gauge barrel bored down to a 12. 175 yds dead nuts with no drop using sabot slugs. The scope is a Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn with an extra wide field of view. Nasty slug gun. We hunt in a shotgun only zone so I have to buy expensive single shots to feel like a rifle hunter. I AM GOING TO F*CK SOME DEER UP THIS YEAR!

I'm sensing some forthcoming headshots.

OMG that would be a mess. A buddy of mine has the same gun just a different stock. When he uses Winchester Partitian Gold Sabot Slugs it turned everything inside the deer's chest into jello. Each deer that he made a good shot on never had a chance to run. They drop.



I use shotguns for ducks but not slugs. My duck gun is a Benelli Super Nova with a high flyer full choke. For ducks you have to use steel or another form of non-toxic shot. With my tight choke I use 4's.

you said that thing's originally a 10 gauge bored down to a 12. do they make 10 gauge slugs? I cant find a 10 gauge version of that.. just 12's all around...

Yes they do, just not in this model. 10 gauge slugs suck anus due to the weight of the bullet. We test fired a Browning BPS smooth bore with rifled slugs and they were only accurate for about 35 yards. There is just so much weight that the bullet drops fast.

I had a 500 back when I was a teenager. Bought it from a guy at a gas station and got ripped. I ended buying a gun with a bent barrel. Missed a couple of deer with it and then wrapped it around a tree.

Yeah, I got the 20 gauge youth version (shorter stock and 12" inch pump action intstead of 13"), it's primarily for the wife and/or my son.

I got the Remington 870 express tactical. 12 gauge for me! Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_11

yeah, i got a 12ga. Mossberg 835 ulti-mag combo, and LOVE it. Knoxx makes awesome stuff for mossberg shotty's (like low-recoil, swat-lookin' stocks)and i've been thinkin' of getting some of their stuff.

The 835 is a great turkey gun, I like that they started porting the barrels out of the factory.
