A full server with 4-5 specs is getting old. Back in the CZ days when we had the Iceworld server too many n00bs with immunity would sit in spec and go AFK so they wouldn't have to wait to reconnect and we had to lay the law down. Now it looks like certain n00bs are going afk spec just to log more time on the server making them look like they are logging serious playtime. If you go AFK, gtfo of the server. The only exceptions should be demoing hackers and posting ban info in the admin forum.

I'm not going to be specific and call people out, but if you have admin start removing the specs.

With the recent admin drop I didn't think it would be as bad.

this is a good thread. although i've been guilty of sitting spec at times, i try not to do it during peak hours, and i do it only when coming back in a few short minutes. however, i have never been concerned with hours logged on the server. i play when i want to play and not to get hours up.

The thing is because of that drop, there's nobody on to kick specs, so it's almost as bad as having specs with immunity.

Yes you can get an admin on steam friends, but half of the time nobody notices until the server is full, in which case you couldn't get an admin on even if you wanted to.

The drop helped, because the main abusers had immunity.

yeah i think we had like 6 specs at one point yesterday. i think more admins with "cadet" level admin would be good. then they can kick specs and mute retards, but we still need a higher ranked admin to ban and they wouldn't be immune to being kicked if they sit in spec.

Yeah, i dont know if its just me, but everytime i want to pee, i put myself behind a box or i just rush get killed on purpose and then go take a leak, i hate going afk and specting i just dont know why, probably because being on a 24/7 full time server and taking a slot on purpose for more than 7 rounds is not good for people wanting to join.

Its cool when you have 10 players but when youre running to 30 or 25 its time to get in or get out and stay on steam, as simple as that.

I go afk when I make my drinks or piss, that's about it. Plus I kick people that are afk more than 2 rounds: When the server is full, 1 round, no warning.

What if they are demoing a hacker? That would be nice when you go to spec and then you are kicked because you aren't on a team because you are recording. Even a quick "Are you there?" would be enough to find out what is going on.

Since the drop, a lot of people are probably whoring the spec team to get their time up to seem like they're good candidates for admin (no lifers).
