So Dana White has said recently in ESPN magazine that he has a huge announcement that will change the face of MMA. He also says in the same article that he has let go of a hundred or so fighters that were on the UFC payroll.

A couple days ago, a rumor hits the MMA forums that Dana has signed a world class boxer.

Today, Floyd Mayweather Jr retires from boxing, and turns down a $20 million payday to rematch De La Hoya.

Of course, it's just a rumor. If it does turn out to be true, expect to see Mayweather vs Faber in the near future.

UFC 85 tomorrow. Hopefully will get the announcement then.

That really would change the face of MMA fighting.

I woulda loved to seen Mayweather vs De La Hoy IIa, but only if Mayweather again.. Mayweather said something a while back of possibly going into MMA to beat someones ass. Don't remember whos it was though.

He'll have a lot to learn. Boxing will only get you so far in the UFC. The thing he's got going for him is his weight class. They tend to stand a lot more. I know one thing, it would bring some attention to the class. Most people only tend to pay attention to the middle-heavy classes.
