i did the same thing earlier, i told him my cousin works for steam and his account will be banned by tracing steam friends name,

this check person keeps sending me messages as well.....or well friend invites......so i just cancel.....was gonna try to find out who it was.....but now i see this next time will be block!

If you accept the invite and then if he tries to scam you you should report him he will probably get banned.

It's better to burn and humiliate them first, THEN block them.
