So, Gr33ny and I were just hanging out, playing with the new kitties, when there came a knock on our door. Well, the only person who ever comes over unannounced this time of night (8:40 or so) is our friend and fellow n00bfest-er Fried Sushi, who lives the next building over. And it sounded like his knock. So Gr33ny gets up, goes, looks out the peephole but couldn't tell anything, but it looked to be a dude about Sushi's size, so he opens the door. Standing there is this black guy, kind of out of breath, and he asks, "Can I use your phone, my cell is dead." So Gr33ny, says, "Ummm, sure, hold on," and turns to grab it, thinking that this guy will just stand there and he can talk outside. But no, this dude just comes walking in the apartment and closes the door behind him! I think, "how rude," and then I got a good look at him. Mid twenties, out of breath, sweaty, (it's only 40 degrees out!) twitchy, upset. I got a sense that something isn't right here...so did Gr33ny, but being as he is twitchy, I guess we both just thought, let him use the phone and get him out. So the guy goes and sits at our kitchen table, and Gr33ny goes and sits next to him and hands him the phone. He calls someone, asks for a ride, talks for a moment, hangs up. Gr33ny is like, "What happened to you?" and the guy replies, "Well, me and my partner (nice word choice here, you wait) got in a fight, and we got split up and I live in Orlando and need a ride back there." So, Gr33ny says, "Dude, why don't you call the cops if you got in a fight?" and he says back, "Ummm, I can't do that cause I have a warrant out on me, so I just need to get ahold of someone for a ride." Well, that caused a surge of alarm, I looked at Gr33ny from where I was sitting at the computer, and he looked back at me like, don't worry, I got it covered. So I casually looked around, and saw a steak knife sitting on a plate by me and felt a little better...I mean, Gr33ny is more than capable of taking someone down, but I'd be there as backup and stab the motherfucker if necessary!

He then is starting to catch his breath, and asks for water, which Gr33ny gets him, and a cigarette, so Gr33ny lit one for both of them, thinking it might make him less jumpy. He asks, "Ok if I hang out for a minute?" and Gr33ny says, "Sure, you can hang out for 5 minutes," and gives him a look. So the guy is messing with his cell phone (which isn't dead, btw) and asks for our phone again. He makes another call, and I guess the party on the other end couldn't give him the ride he wanted and he gets all mad and starts punching his leg and swearing. I'm getting more nervous by the minute, but can't quite figure out how to get this guy gone without him spazzing out. He asked where the nearest gas station was, and Gr33ny told him right down the street, about two blocks from here. The dude asked for a ride, and we refused, said there wasn't enough gas. He got quiet, and just looked at the floor, but not calmly, very nervy and twitchy. I was shooting Gr33ny looks above this guy's line of vision, and I knew Gr33ny was just about ready to get him out of there, no matter what it took or what happened, when I hear another knock, a loud one. So I get up, go to the window and look out, and see two cops standing there! Since I was unable to get to my cell phone to call them, I was really happy to see them. I opened the door, they came in and made the guy go with them, and then we had to answer a whole bunch of questions. Long story short, it appeared that this guy and another one knocked over the Winn-Dixie that is right around the corner, armed robbery, a short time ago!!!! Armed robbery with a GUN! He took off, and he and his "partner" (remember I said to note the word he used) got separated, since he was a dumb criminal who robbed a grocery store WHEN TWO COPS WERE RIGHT OUT FRONT!!! They saw him run into our complex is right next door to the grocery, so they followed him in here. We just happened to be the lucky ones whose door got knocked on...dumb us, but he pretty much came in by force. Turns out that the cops saw him come in, and just waited outside the door for about 7-10 minutes and then decided that they were gonna get him. His buddy was seen by our neighbor, even asked to use her cell, but she didn't let him. So we spent two hours in the cold writing affadavits and we are pressing charges cause he technically did a home invasion. The other guy is still at large, but the whole neighborhood as well as the cops are now looking for him, so he's either been caught by now or is far, far away. Good God, it could have turned out so much worse, I'm just glad that it was ok. And the cops were really nice and they agreed that with that kind of thing we couldn't have done much else without a lot of violence. So crack-head robber guy is in jail now, and we will be getting calls from the cops and the state attorney soon...yay. F*CKING hell, and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Oh, and it now gives us LEGAL grounds for breaking our lease and moving the F*CK out of here...the neighborhood is really bad, lots of drugs and crime and we hate it here. If there had even been a light outside our door which there ISN'T....we wouldn't have opened it in the first place.

So now I'm going to bed cause I'm tired and cold and just drained from all of that!

All's well that ends well, and that's something I give thanksgiving for.

The same sort of thing happened at my old house when I lived in the Tampa area. Some guy came up to the door, our front door was open but our screen door was closed. He grabbed the door trying to open it, but it was locked. He said someone was trying to kill him. My dad and I stood up and told him if he didnt F*CK off that we were going to give him a beating of a life time. My dog came out of the back room ready to whoop some ass, I grabbed her by the collar and as soon as he saw her he ran, and it turned out that he had tried to shoot someone but missed and was running from the people, cops or both. We didnt get involved, we just heard about it from our neighbor.

We might've been more kind except for the fact that my 3 year old sister was in the living room with us and we couldn't take any chances, it wasn't a good neighborhood and shit there was unpredictable. I think Weedman might've been there, but I think he was in my room gaming or something.

I'm glad ya'll are ok, situations like that prove to be hard to gather your thoughts, there really isn't a right way to handle it, you deny them, they fight. You let them in, they do something stupid, so who knows.
