Post holding the mouse
I've tried to watch CPL videos where they show the players using the mouse/keyboard, but I still can't tell how they hold it.

A few people have told me to use the mouse with the index finger on leftclick, middle for the scrollwheel, and ring finger for the right click. is this way recommended by anyone or is there a better way to hold a mouse for gaming?

Well when I play I use index for left, middle for right and wheel. my reasoning for this is because My right click is jump and when I push on my wheel (Mouse3) it's my special, such as Scoping, Silencers etc.

i also use arrows when I play and i use numpad and insertn, home, end keys for other shit.

I don't think there is a best way, but I use my index on the left click, middle finger on the right click and i usually don't use the wheel because if you fire the dualies too fast it might recognize it as a hack, (i think, right? i heard that somewhere). Unless I'm smoking then middle finger on left click and ring finger on right click. It doesn't matter just find the most comfortable way where you can control how fast you can click.

I know that the hack thing is BS. i take my left finger when Im F*CKIN around and push as fast as I can and the dualies shoot as fast as the Para.

I like binding Mouse4 to Double Click. Used to be I was able to hold down the button for any pistol and it would fire like crazy. Now while alternating Mouse4 and the primary fire button, it's Dualie madness.

it's purely personal preference, i'm sure about 99% of them have their index on the left, and middle on the right. some players have their wrist on the pad, some have their wrist above the pad, at one point rambo from ed would have his hand completely vertical pressing the mouse1/2 or he'd have his palm as far up as he could and click 1/2 with the base of his fingers.

It's so personal that I just use my index for all mouse buttons because it is the only finger I have

Just kidding... I agree with LV-Gamer

Right index finger on left click for weapon fire, middle for wheel (switch weapon) and right click (special weapon stuff), thumb for mouse 4 (game) and 5 (vent)

Also tons of different keys on the keyboard for moving, like w for forward, a & d for strafing, ctrl for crouch, and space for jump, as well as many others.

Hold the shit how ever you wanna hold it...theres no special style or way to hold the mouse...just whatever makes you comfortable and makes the mouse feel like its not even there...the standard pointer on left and middle on right with a little cuping action works for me...its like its never even there ...sometimes ive gotta look over just to make sure it didnt run off on me.
